since wangyue went to the barracks and met chen yan, she was more accompanied by chen yan and always saved her. so it makes sense why wangyue fell in love to chen yan and also chen yan gradually fell in love with her. it's a flashback so it kinda abrupt for you but if you pay close attention to their interactions you can tell they have the same feelings.

i dont think from episodes 11 till this current episode are boring and draggy. those episodes help to build thrstory and there are some scenes that are very important that support to answer your questions for you not to be confuse. also, some scenes are sweet and tear-jerking about the main leads. there are filler scenes but are bearable to watch. if you are going to compare this drama to others this is quite fast pacing. i cant wait to watch their past life
