The ending might seem abrupt to some but the point was that the ML was toxic. He was pretty immature and hurt Seol Ha repeatedly. By the end, Seol Ha got tired of his antics and fell out of love. It was realistic but I think the director made the ML too unlikeable.

To be honest, the reveal surprised me a lot. I expected Baek Ho to fire her in the past. But, him being part of such an immoral conspiracy almost feels out of character. The ML has been shown to be practical and cold but he has been shown to at least have some principles.
