Naksu soul shifted to Buyeon's body (Mudeok). Maybe they just exchanged bodies, same as what happened to the queen and shaman Choi. Just a wild guess but I think it's logical.
My thoughts. I think Buyeon is inside the original Naksu's body from the start that is why the story of Buyeon will still continue in Season 2.
Buyeon was in Naksu's body from the start when Naksu shifted soul. Buyeon has the part of the ice stone as well which she acquired in the lake when she tried to retrieve the stone. This is why Naksu's original body was not actually burned and just preserved same as what happened to Jang-uk. Therefore, Buyeon is actually alive in Naksu's body for whole Season 1.
Just can't explain how Buyeon interacts with Mudeok like for example the gates in Jinyowon reacts to Mudeok's presence. I always thought Buyeon is inside Mudeok's body. Maybe its a different case. Either Buyeon is in Jinyowon every time, just lingering somewhere near or maybe Buyeon is able to communicate/transfer souls with Mudeok as she is a powerful priestess.
Anyway, really enjoyed Season 1 and looking forward for Season 2! Kudos to the whole AOS team for delivering a wonderful series.
