This was an excellent series. I usually don't watch this type of series - specifically mass shootings, as the stories covered in the news are so upsetting and makes me unsettled. But this is truly something that everyone should watch. So I highly recommend it.
The story was well thought out by the writer to provide maximum impact within the 10 episodes. For one I think this was just right as more episodes would have taken away the crucial points and message for everyone, be it for the victims family/friends, the family/friends of the killer, the staff at news agencies, the lawyers and the doctors, etcetera etcetera. A perspective from almost all parties which gives us a better understanding of what people go through in such difficult circumstances. I cried in almost every episode.... so be prepared.
The acting was great and actually felt like a recording of actual events. Each character, in whatever situation was chosen perfectly in my opinion which includes the supporting cast.
The Production and Visual effects were also well done.
Ost and sound effects: Must be honest and say that the story and acting was so compelling that I can't even remember whether there were any songs:)
Rewatch value is actually very low, I learnt a lot but won't necessarily rewatch as I cried too much. But this shouldn't be detrimental in deciding whether to watch it or not. This is just my personal feelings regarding the emotionally draining content. Still a must watch.
Is it just a story of them meeting, falling in love and then nothing else but sweet moments? Or is there more…
Well in short the answer is yes. But there 's also Arc that deals with main lead' s reasons for retiring at a young age and him living in a foreign country. Character development of ML. And of course the billiard/snooker part with casual play and competitions. Bromance as well. So all in all good romance. Hope this answers your question.
A Definite 10/10 for this Romance Sport's drama. Really loved it and enjoyed it immensely!! I binged this, watching until early hours of the morning.
Everything was great from Story which is very original in my opinion, Acting, Visual effects, Production and OST.
Wu Lei is an amazing actor in my humble opinion, he did very very well in his role as Yiyang. His acting and expressions were spot on and believable in every aspect for the character he portrayed. I was very emotional with the scenes of Coach He. He also did pretty well with english and also singing in english. I'm also impressed by Zhao Jin Mai (mere 21yrs old) as Yin Guo, I've only seen one other series of her, Reset but will look into the others she played in. Their chemistry was great and their love story was very believable. The scene where he proposed made me so emotional, it was just right with their friends in the background. The shot of the seating area from above (spelled out LOVE) was a perfect 'ending' of the proposal scene for us, the audience.
The other actors also did a great job with special mention for Wang Xing Yie, Chen Jing Ke, Ding Xiao Ying, Dong Zi Fan and Wang Jia Xuan. Also Yin Guo's mother, Wu Qian played by Jiang Hong Bo who brought 'real' angst in terms of the family accepting Yiyang.
First CDrama which I watched with part of the series being in a foreign country. Production was done very well and scenes (city, etc) and scenery was awesome, especially the island get away.
The sports side of it was exciting and first ever billiard/pool/snooker series that I've watched. The competitions were filmed very well with great angles, etc. Googled the rules of the specific games and it broadened my knowledge and opened a new sport to me, to enjoy. I normally love anything to do with horses, tennis and gymnastics and snooker is now part of it! We have a pool/snooker table but haven't played for some time and want to now play again.
Ost was awesome and will be downloading the songs used especially the main song, Love and shine.
Rewatch value is very high on this one. Will wait a month or so and definitely watch it again. I will miss the main cast and it's a pity that it has ended. Would definitely watch a second season if its at all possible.
https://wuxiasociety.com/whats-the-difference-between-wuxia-xianxia-and-xuanhuan/ Small correction this is considered…
Thank you๐ I relied on the Genres depicted on MDL for this series that reflects the followingGenres: Romance, Wuxia, Fantasy, Political. I will identify the genre myself in future based on the context of the series.
This was unexpectedly a very good Wuxia series and I really enjoyed it. Glad that I decided to give it a chance even though there are numerous reviews and comments which suggest that this series is not worth watching and negative comments about the ML and FL, which I feel are unfounded and/or biased. A 9/10 rating is more realistic in my opinion.
Correction : This is actually a Xianxia considering that it includes Immortals. This sub-genre is a fusion of wuxia and Chinese mythology.

*******SPOILER ALERT*********
The comments regarding the female lead, Ren Min not being the right choice for the character of Zhu Yan is ridiculous. She acted the way the character was written and did a great job in my opinion. Ren Min's acting is a 8.5/10 for me. Xiao Zhan did great as Shi Ying so 10/10 for him.
All the other actors did a great job at portraying their respective characters especially, Alen Fang, Wang Churan, Zi Qi Wang and Marcus Li.
Story: The story kept the viewer engaged with enough intrigue to keep one wanting to see what happens next. Most of the Arc's were tied up but the Sea emperor's and the Dragon Lord's wasn't.
The ending is left open for interpretation, either Shi Ying will only return once a year when the Snowy Rosa blooms or he became immortal and actually returned in the last scene to spend their remaining years together. My interpretation is that he became immortal and returned. My reason being that when Yuan took Zhu Yan and seriously injured Shi Ying (because he lost his powers after Zhu Yan resurrected him with the Blood oath spell) , he went through rebirth, regained all his powers and became immortal. So he was able to return by transforming from the white petal (his primordial spirit in the white petal). So story 8.5/10
Production and Visual FX were great as well Cinematography, excellent CGI, beautiful sets and scenery, excellent fight scenes which were well choreographed, beautiful costumes 9/10
This series could have been so much better but was unfortunately disappointing. Very long, drawn out and slow paced...... I personally do not understand why it was produced this way but its due to the screenwriter in, as the Producer has produced a number of very good shows such as Mysterious Lotus Casebook. It could have been done in at least 24 episodes to have a better flow and keep the viewer wanting more. I wanted to skip / fast forward at times but watched with eng subs so it wasn't doable.
The actors did a good job and Bai Lu and Dylan Wang did not disappoint even with the bad script. Their chemistry was on point and affection believable. The side couples also did well and their storyline was better than the Main couple's. The main couple's storyline was at times clouded by clichรฉs and downright childish misunderstandings and miscommunication. My rating a generous 7.
