I truly do wish that they included some of the parts in the novel where dou zhao played as a matchmaker for her maid servants and relatives and adapt it into the drama and all the 7 dou siblings and their own families.... and song mo's sister have bigger involvement in the story as far as I remember from the novel. And chen jia, prince qing, grand princess, gu yu, song han and grand prince also have bigger story arcs in the novel whilst in the drama they felt underutilized.
