So Good Had To Review

I had a lot of fun from start to finish. There were endless plot twists and kept me at the edge of my seat for the whole ride in just 12/24 episodes. Even with no romance there was so much chemistry between the leads. I never write reviews but this time it was so good that I had to come here and write one because people are missing out on what I think was the best drama of 2020. The story asks the question "should we accept fate as it is or try to change it? will we be different if we changed it?"
A great thrilling watch that is not very dark or horrifying but perfectly thrilling. so it is safe to watch for those who are little bit faint hearted.

Masterpiece - A Classic

This drama was a MASTERPIECE beginning to end. Too often the dramas start strong and then become tedious in the middle, keep dragging or do not stick the landing and ruin the ending. This drama had no loose ends. It was well crafted in story, well produced, well directed, greatly executed in acting. I cannot say I have been more satisfied by a drama. This has entered the classics like Yanxi Palace for me. It was like an art piece, poetry in motion and great lines. I am extremely satisfied by my viewing experience of this drama. Ding Yuxi and Deng Enxi have made me buy a ticket for all their future projects from now on, same with this director who I know also directed Prisoner of Beauty.

I just don't understand some of the complains people are making they almost sound ridiculous to me because they were saying that there were not many romance scenes from couple, some said the politics was too much, and some even said the villains got off too easy. These complains make me just facepalm out of frustration and disbelief lol.

People need to understand there are different genres in media and there are varieties in story and it is good to have this variety. It is kind of like food. There is junk food, there are desserts, there are herbs and spice and vegetables and fruits. Just like that vertical dramas, or tropey cliche dramas, mini dramas, or long form dramas, or movies etc serve a purpose. You will not eat junk food every day every meal. But once in a while it tastes good right??

The themes of this show, the story, the characters all made sense at all points of the story. I especially liked the fact that this drama did not kill of support character for cheap emotions. If they died, it was only because it made sense for the story.

Perfection from beginning to end.

I really hope people gain some media literacy from now on tho. If people do not know how to appreciate good stuff and give credit when it is due, the market will become flooded with only low quality stuff and then we will be bored because we have nothing thought provoking to watch anymore.

A beautiful journey of friendships, trauma, school violence & result of bad parenting styles

I picked this drama up because I was intrigued by the story but I stayed for the characters and most importantly the phenomenal acting by the three young men.

I cannot recommend this drama enough to everyone. The production and the acting is off the charts. The three boys gave it all their power into the acting. They brought the characters to life from a paper script.

Characters
The three main characters are Yeon Si Eun, Ahn Soo Ho and Oh Beum Sok. Ahn Soo Ho is a straightforward person and likes to live life freely on his own terms. He is a very hardworking person too and is able to get by from his jobs. He is very physically strong. He is also a strong personality and is street smart. He is unhinged and lives life on the edge. A little reckless to a fault. Yeon Si Eun oh my god where do I begin. He is very introverted and quiet. He is very book smart and is academically gifted. In the begining you will only seem him studying a lot in his class. Although smart, he is also reckless. Ahn Soo Ho brought all the emotions out of Si Eun. He made him smile for the first time and he made him cry for the first time. Yeon Si Eun is able to see what lies underneath people and sees Ahn Soo Ho for the caring person he is. Now coming to Oh Beum Sok. I also do not know where to begin with him. He is a very kind and loving person or could have been if it were not for the deep negativity he harbors within him win. I cannot go further into his character because it would become a spoiler.

Story & Production
The story is about three friends who go through fighting bullies at their school. The first half of the story is about the healthy relationship friendship bond the three make. The second half is about how loneliness and the darkness of our traumas can take over and ruin our lives and healthy relationships. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy that dooms us all and burns everything and everyone around us in the cross fire. The action and thrill you get from watching this story is like no other. It kept me intrigued through every minute of the show. It was exceptional story that kept me hooked. As for the production, the music and direction gave me goosebumps at times. And pulled me into the world of these three boys.

I gave it a slightly low rewatch value because if you watch the scenes again you might get triggered from the violence.
