I wouldn't be surprised if the JP adaptation only had drafts to work with for some storylines

Thus, events were remixed around but without the development to back it up

In the manga, IdaAoki holding hands and the incident with the homophobic tutor happen AFTER Ida finally realises / confesses he likes Aoki

But in the JBL, it's vice versa so it didn't feel as impactful when Ida claps back at him

I loved the finale and the whole illumination festival was mostly new content mixed with the Valentine's chapter and Ida confessed and all that.. but we could have had it sooner

Resulting the show ended when it felt like their relationship is only beginning

the new bit of Ida writing Aoki's name on his eraser is cute tho
