I think Lakorn tend to be super long, wait till you see Taiwan drama lmao
I can't believe I used to watch Taiwanese soaps. I blame my family and local channels televised them all over the place.

On Marry My Dead Body Oct 14, 2022
From Reddit

>>> For those unfamiliar with Chinese folklore, the premise is not as bizarre as you might think. 冥婚 (ming hun), essentially a post-humous marriage between 2 deceased persons, or 1 deceased person and 1 living, occured most frequently around the Tang and Song dynasties. It's outlawed for obvious reasons in mondern day China but it still happens in rural areas. There are many reasons for the practice, ranging from ensuring the spirit rests in peace and is able to reincarnate, to providing a family (and therefore descendants) to the deceased who can continue "caring" for the spirit in the afterlife (aka caring for the grave and providing offerings). Sometimes it was just cause one half of the couple died before the marriage could be consummated.

This practice is the reason behind the superstition that you should not pick up a red envelope you find lying on the ground, or a lock of hair, bones, fingernails etcetc cause some families will literally leave that out for someone to pick up, believing the one who does so has been "chosen by fate". Different areas believe different things and conduct the rituals differently for different reasons.

Since Taiwan has a fairly superstitious (especially amongst the older generations) population, this premise is not uncommon in romance comedy movies, and can be pretty funny, if you, you know, ignore the whole being dead thing 😅😅

The title of the show in Chinese translates directly to "Regarding that Incident Where a Ghost and I Became Family", and is definitely hinting at more of a comedy than the chosen English title hahaha
