After watching ep4: The soundtrack and cinematography are brilliant, and the writing and direction are good too—overall,…
I actually feel the opposite about Moon Ga-young — I think she fits the role really well. Her character is supposed to be reserved and emotionally guarded, and I think her subtle expressions and calm delivery reflect that. It’s not meant to be dramatic or overly expressive; it’s more internalized, which makes sense given the slice-of-life tone of the drama. Sometimes less is more, and she brings that quiet realism that complements the other characters beautifully. I’ve been enjoying her performance just as much as the others.

OMG, I kinda regret starting this drama since it only has 4 episodes, lol. I went in without much expectation because K-dramas haven’t really been hitting for me lately. Even though I’m a fan of everyone in the show, it’s kinda sad Kim Kyung Nam was only in one episode. But honestly, I didn’t think I’d love it this much — it’s totally my type of drama. It’s so comforting, and the food and everything about it just feels like a warm, cozy escape!

Song Xiaoyu is a rare female lead—real, strong, and unapologetic. Some may call her a red flag, but she loved herself first and didn’t want to die. She did everything to protect her family and could live without love, but not without them. When she finally chose Nan Heng, it was on her terms because she believed in him and felt safe. He gave her what she needed most: family safety and respect.

I love this show and their relationship means everything to me. Can’t wait to see what happens next—this is so unpredictable!

After everything Nanheng’s been through, I suddenly thought back to episode 1—when Nanfeng’s agent asked for 900 scenes centered on the male lead, making sure all the best parts were his, just so the audience would fall in love with him. And now I can’t help but wonder… are we the ones stuck in the rewritten script?

Feel like this has become a bit of a mess since girlfriend went over the cliff. The past 4 eps haven’t had anything…
Fr right?? There’s sooo much mess going on with this drama. I heard the original screenwriter and their whole team got pushed out and even lost their opening credits. The plot after the cliff fall wasn’t written by them at all. And get this — the opening credits list 11 screenwriters, and apparently some still didn’t get credited 😵‍💫 no wonder it feels all over the place lately.

Wow it's gotten that serious? That's uncalled for and honestly she shouldn't have to explain herself when she…
Yes, it’s that serious. Some people are even blaming Li Yitong for choosing this kind of role, as if she knew how the writing would turn out. That’s so unfair. She’s an actress doing her job, and it’s the script that’s flawed, not her performance. She shouldn’t have to defend herself for taking on a challenging character.

Okay now that I've caught up with the episodes, I can see why many criticized the FL. Li Yi Tong is doing a great…
I agree — Li Yitong is doing a great job with a poorly written FL who mostly switches between dismissive and silly. The character should be the viewer’s stand-in, but the script fails to make her relatable. It’s frustrating because other characters have clear growth. What’s worse is some people are unfairly criticizing Li Yitong herself when she’s really giving her all with the role.

That I don’t understand either. Why can’t people discern the difference between the actress and the character?…
Exactly!! I’ve been thinking the same thing. It’s honestly wild how some people can’t separate fiction from reality. The character might be frustrating, but Li Yitong is just doing her job — and doing it well. It takes so much effort to play such a complex, emotionally messy role, and instead of acknowledging that, people are blaming her personally?? It’s not only unfair, it’s just immature.

I’ve seen some people coming for the actress lately and it really sucks. Like yeah, I get the hate toward the FL — her actions were frustrating — but it’s not fair to take that out on Li Yitong. She’s been working so hard, and just since last week she’s been posting these long essays trying to explain the character and help viewers understand her perspective. You can tell she really cares about the role and how the audience feels.

She’s been nothing but respectful and open, and honestly? That kind of dedication deserves support, not hate. Criticize the character, sure — but don’t attack the actress who’s clearly giving it her all.

I've dropped The Princess 'Gambit, please don't make me drop this too. I need a change of dynamics!!
Honestly, if you’ve watched the recent episodes, I think this time the FL might finally come to her senses. It’s been a slow burn, but the setup feels like it’s leading to a turning point. I just hope the writers don’t backtrack again.
