He died and went to another realm in 3 different soul shards. She has to make those 3 to fall in love with her at the same time in order to bring him back
I wouldn’t say that he is in love. He truly cares about her and she is an important person in his life but he hasn’t acknowledged those feelings yet. He likes her but he ended up killing her.
Chong Zi was in love with her master before dying. There were a couple of other guys that liked her, one of them was reallyyyyy annoying and persistent but I wouldn’t say that at this point there is romance here
