this has been the longest week of my life

the synopsis says that her FIRST LOVE broke her heart not the ML. the writer JunHo is her first love but not having watched it i also though the ML was her first love so i got confused

i finished the drama as it aired but i never commented my last review so here it goes. i loved both seasons differently. i tried not comparing the two naksu's because that would've made the show worse for me. i did enjoy both naksu's differently because they were different. i enjoyed also jang uk's personality shift and growth. storyline was always strong and never got boring. im glad they only did 10 episodes for s2 because they were enough. if i had to pinpoint something which was a small thing that i minded but in no way did it change my perspective of the show is seo yul trying to kill naksu in s2. i did not understand the reason behind it and he pissed me off because he kept the parasite secret for so long. like why??

anyway, incredible show. it should've won all the awards. to me it was same level as moving last year. they should've gotten the same amount of praise, each on their own year. also go youn jung starring in both says a lot about the quality of her acting.

i do choose s1 supremacy because it was longer and there was more time to fall in love with the characters and it was fresh

the comedy is unhinged and i love it!

im enjoying the show, i know it's not for everyone because of its slow pace but i like this mundane style (like something in the rain). however, what is wrong with these teachers having private meetings with students and private chat conversations. when i was in highschool, we had group chats with the teacher where the whole class was present so that they could share information but i find it weird that that they send messages to students about their experience at other academies. i know they are trying to persuade them so that they don't switch schools but that's abusive on a minor, you should be having those conversations with their adult parents. it happened more than once which was weird to me

after episode 36, i was unsure how they would end the series and i was also thinking about not watching the last two episodes because of how heartbroken it was. Shen Jinzhen was the heart of the show, probably the purest character that inspired both wei ruolai and shen tunan.
the last two episodes managed to give this show the most perfect ending it could have had after what happened in just barely 1hr 30 min. great job writers!
now as regards the whole show, what an incredible journey. i read the synopsis over a month ago and i admit the only reason i started it was Wang YiBo. i didn't know the other actors and i wasn't sure i wanted to watch something so politically heavy. however, this was so done so well!! the writers did such a good job to tell the story through the characters perspectives. they never tried to give an opinion or direct the audiance towards a certain belief but it was all through first introducing the characters and then their faith. i was worried at first that the plot would fall into the "the girl he falls in love with gets him closer to the political party" trope but it was the opposite, ruolai slowly lost his trust in kuomintang and slowly approached the communist party.
the most important thing for me that makes this show top notch and up there with anything i've ever watched is the pacing. there was never a filler episode or dragged subplots. everything that happened, had a reason and led to a conclusion. every episode was exciting and made me want to watch more.
im truly grateful for the whole team that worked on this project. im a wang yibo fan but i was surprised to discover many incredible actors, expecially my mvp Li Qin.

i know that there are a lot of problemi with the show but for some reason, the last 4 episodes have had me glued at the screen. they were so exciting and actually fun and full of plot twists

i finished this drama in 2 days. i loved it!

when she participates in the tournament it will be two months since they met

how are all these men the greenest flags??? its like they collected all the green flags and put them together

i feel like the whole show wasn't trying to give reason to why he committed suicide (even though they used some small things to give it meaning such as not having money and his insecurites). what i felt, especially at the end, was that they were trying to give a reason to live. why somebody chooses to end their life is not something anybody can fully grasp if they don't live it themselves and that's exactly why I think the writers didn't try to do that but only to try and give him reason why life is worth living

this show is so good!!! it's funny and charming. there's thriller included in a crever way. the chemistry between leads and great acting. im having so much fun watching it!!

I didn't know about until two days ago cause there was no promotion but I saw that there were a few videos talking about from last years. I wonder why

there are a lot of easter eggs in the show trailer already so there will probably more in the show. i suggest cathing up a little bit maybe with MVs and webtoon if you like it. there's a video recapping the storyline which i suggest watching (if you need it) after the show so that explains any misunderstanding or maybe something they cut out from the series.

if you have time and wish to then i suggest to go through the whole journey. the only thing that will be no longer available soon is the mobile game BTS WORLD

im glad she doesnt have too much chemistry with gi cheul because it reflects their relationship, he's stuck on feelings he had for her when he was younger but she's way moved on and has always thought of him as her neighbor and is married and in love with someone else so i appreciate the awkwardness in their conversations. i think ML is definitely living the consequences of being undercover for too long which is doing extreme things for the sake of the operation but to me it makes so much sense and the title is telling too, there's nothing more evil than what humans out of control are capable of doing. i hope by the end of the series he's not left with too many scars and ptsd but it makes sense that he would so i'm enjoying these details

both seasons were amazing. i have to say my favorite is season 2. season 1 focuses mostly on arisu, introducing the game and showing us his journey through it. season 2 meticulously focuses on the characters (including arisu but not just him). there were characters that i didnt care about in season 1 that i found fascinating in s2. i think my favorite still remain the king of clubs but also the queen of hearts. the games in s2 were definitely a lot more interesting and introspective. while in s1 arisu had to use his brains and wit more, s2 was about his feelings (ofc still some wit as well). overall i think they did a phenomenal job. i was worried about how they were going to explain everything that happened and how they'd let them go back to their world but they did it so well and in such an unexpected way too. great writing. great acting. and mostly best casting ever!!! im excited about s3. i wonder if they'll take them back to the game which would be a little repetitive i guess. my guess is that they will be in normal tokyo and try an find the creators of borderland or they will be taken to borderland but the joker card makes me expect something a lot more thrilling and dangereous. can't wait

i dont agree with the ratings. this show has been great so far. ji chang wook is really versatile and wi ha joon has a lot of charm in his acting. i've enjoyed their interactions. the casting is also really good. can't wait for more

they dont really touch on it. after her brother dies, she takes his place on the battlefield and its a given that she's xi yun. we don't get an actual reaction. i would've wanted it though since he wanted to marry bai fangxi but she wasn't a queen and so he married the other princess

i only have two episodes to end this series and i already know what happens so i will comment now. OVERALL, this is a great show!!! i've loved every single episode from beginning to end. it started in such an intense way and the pace kept going without ever slowing down. i watched it all in 4 days and i never got bored, i just wanted to keep watching. i highly reccomend. 10/10 for me

i just started the series and im so pissed at her mom. i find her pathetic and a coward. she keeps tormenting her child, calling it education. the scene where she had her daughter flogged as a punishment really bothered me. i dont how it will proceed but there is no redemption for me, whatever happens. sorry i just needed to vent it out
