maybe you are right, actually, i too feel like rewatching it sometime, because, i can barely remember much, ep12 reference was more of a example, usually kdramas have breakup at ep 12, so i meant it that way,

yes, it does assumptions a lot. oet was trying to brainwash hwal by trashing sang un, whenever oet is private he is rarely seen to have that much hatred for her, even he easily lets her stay alive for long, especially the hiding in attic scene. i watched the show in week, so i might have found it easier to connect the dots, the story was really good, writing ruined it honestly, they were probably aiming for peak rating for finale even if it means rushing it. they could have done 1000 year timeline in 12 th episode.
(I already posted this comment way back in the feed but I wanted to see if maybe some of you could answer some…
lemme try my best to explain from what i understood, 1 about OET being obsessed with hwal, initially it was his health and he wanted longer life, which he could get by being bulgasal, his lovesickness seemed to come from being bulgasal itself, i believe the bulgasal pair are drawn to each other, and he hoped if he could make hwal to choose him as his pair he could keep on living as bulgasal.
2 he met sang un before meeting hwal when he was killing his brother, so he might have stalked sang un or made reasonable guesses, also he was present when hwal was getting stabbed by everyone in 1000 year timeline, so from that he might have known the history.
3 About one-sided love, from pov of a bystander, sang un comes down to village and hwal follows her and kills village for her, whereas she is willing to stab herself to kill hwal so it made sense to say hwal was in one-side love.
4 As for how he knew sang un abandoned, again see 2
5 as eul tae killed his family, the people (the siblings) who were close to sang un, sang un might have thought if she doesn't take hwal's soul then eul tae will kill more people. which brings me to the thought why didn't she kill herself and eul tae to end this charade but then still hwal's rebirth curses will continue. so hwal has to become bulgasal, and eul tae wasn't willing to take to the soul, so sang un has to do it. As for why she was there she might have guessed OET's plan all along.
6 This is a valid question, I can only assume, Sang un was being evasive and not cooperative to his scheme,or he might found it difficult to track hwal, or he was wounded by sang un and his black hole was acting up and he was trying to make himself strong.
7. firstly she saw him during his first murder, and I think sang un didn't let him live freely by attacking him often, or basically, he was bothered by her humanly intentions and he preferred hwal a more beastly alternative to be his pair. thus he was projecting his anger on sang un as he can't hate hwal
8 no I think he was worried sang un would become bulgasal again, he didn't want to deal with her again or sang un will tell hwal the truth and hwal might kill himself and OET. but oet wanted to live forever
9 her death has no correlation to oet becoming full bulgasal, he can never be one. he kinda knew it. 8 point only makes sense, all he hoped maybe was to make hwal a beastly bulgasal, which he thought might have cured his black hole but It didn't happen rather it weakened him more.
I personally felt the entire tale was decently explained, I agree there are minor misses, like what happened during 1000 and 600 years and 600 and present day. I hope you find my explanation satisfactory.
After finishing the drama, there are still some things I don't get. - why did Sang Un take Hwal's soul? - why…
I too have this doubt, as sang un's best choice was not to make hwal bulgasal again, that guy destroyed a village, she of all people shouldn't have done it. but if eul tae killed his family, the people who were close to sang un, sang un might have thought if she doesn't take hwal's soul then eul tae will kill more people. which brings me to the thought why didn't she kill herself and eul tae to end this charade but then still hwal's rebirth curses will continue. so hwal has to become bulgasal, and eul tae wasn't willing to take to it, so sang un has to do it.
Man, I saw a comment on drama sites 'Many men can be classified as drop dead gorgeous but not as many can carry the weight of "gentlemanly", "distinguished", "class" "manly" and "refined". Lee Jin Wook seems to exude them all without even trying. He's also one of those kind of men you could kill yourself lusting over but you know you're so far out of his league it hurts. *sigh*' by riversdancingshadow always explains how I feel. It hurts he is twice my age and I discovered him too late, there are a ton of people I have had a crush on but he is the guy I wanna call my ideal type. The right amount of mysterious, devilishness, gentlemanly- ultimate pack. I saw him first in The beauty inside movie, I didn't know who he was and kept wondering who is he, but after the Voice series, and Bulgasal, I will finish off all his series. But I want to see him a highly acclaimed project like top-tier work with full-on romance and kisses. I have started 9 times time travel man he is so good in it. Woah he is an environment Engg dropout, smart one.
haha unrealistic but at the same time not actually that unrealistic. I have friends and they are twin sisters.…
haha, I have been with three pairs of twins, two of which were identical. I could differentiate one because of an ear protrusion else they look carbon copy, and the other pair because of their personality-wise as one was moody and the other twin bright. I think it will be difficult to differentiate if both twins would take care equally. If they had gotten tanned, got scars, or simply body aging differently it would be easier.
Why I meant unrealistic because just for the sake of escaping the embarrassment of meeting his old crush he impersonates his dead twin which was sad and weird. Anyway, this might be a more personal view so I meant that.
I didn't cry for youth of may, scarlet heart, or for some 300 + dramas I have watched. My personal favorite is tears in heaven, they ruined the latter half, but first half, I kept crying throughout the night. I was very emotionally invested for ML, FL and ML's friend and their interactions that I just couldn't control my tears.
ps i checked your profile i have same interests as yours,
