Truly had so much fun watching this. From the main cast to the side characters - everyone filled the story with so much essence. And especially the female characters - as they are the centre of the story - they were nicely fleshed out, humanely portrayed and all different from each other. I'm glad the story potrays the serious issues with complexity even if this is comedy and doesn't go completely bleak/daunting. It shows the highs and lows after (or while) the characters go through some kind of transformation.
I was so pleasently surprised to see the OG Maririn. It would have been interesting to see her as the mentor, but Eguchi Noriko charms you instantly with her stoic outer appearance that I think she fits to the t. And along with that - her contrast with the vigorous Maririn is a joy to watch.
Hopefully Japan comes out with much more of these kinds of projects.
Haven't watched a melodrama in a while and have to admit that I've probably grown out of them. Trying to apply any ratioanal thought/reasoning for this is not what anyone should be doing. This is all about THE EMOTIONS. Exaggarated and in abudance. The relationships were utterly messy. And every character, from least to most, has something that makes you frustrated with them. People who enjoy this genre will surely be satisfied.
