I'm reading the manhua and it starts in the present modern life (which will not be filmed) but its also hilirious, cute and entertaining to read. The timeline is confusing but we know they will film their past life.
In the manhua the past life starts like in chapter 35 or so. In the anime it starts in episode 28. But i would suggest to watch or read it all as its entertaining and to better understand their story.
Susu tushan and Bai yuechu are the reincarenation of dong fang yuechu and tushan hong hong.

This drama is star studded. She is known but not like super popular. She gets more out of starring in this one because she gets exposure than starring in a drama with a bad script that might flop lets face it since in c-ent if you dont have traffic they give you poor script with poor budget and you have to rely on luck that the drama resonates with the audience and becomes a hit and that happens rarely.

For actors with alot of fans the investiment is hight coz they know even if the the drama is not well recieved the fans are going to watch it and promote it so they will get their money anyway. Being an actor in c-ent with no traffic or connections is hard.
