The reason I do not take anyone who doesn't like tushan Jing serious is because they always don't like him because of being rival to their ship. Not because he did anything bad or any other thing. That can't be said for other characters who actually did something to be disliked for. Jing doesn't or didn't need character development because unlike other characters his character is perfect the way it is.He is complex the way he is. A character doesn't need to be a villain or abuse their love interest or do many outrageous things to be liked. Also being liked by majority of people doesn't mean they're the best character. It's a trend to like ruthless cold characters so it's not a suprise if such a character has most fan girls & if a ship with good girl x ruthless cold character trope has many fans. Any ship with toxic elements is like honey to bee for fans. An author liking one of the characters best doesn't make them best characters in the book. I mean xiao Yao is so far best character in the LYF book objectively. I admire her so much.
There's hypocrisy going on where everyone thinks it's okay to say outrageous things about Jing (mostly untrue, projected & made up) but start crying and attacking with pitchforks if anyone dare says they don't like the character they like and pointing out the not made up & true things he did.
Veryone should just respect everyone preferences. Whether that preference is that they don't like the character you like or understand him the way we do. We interpret things differently. Some are shallow or deep or educative or outrageous.
For the record Tonghua did say XL was her fave character out of them all but she didn't say the xiaoliu ship was her fave so yeah lol..... she picked the one she liked by the end since all the cards were in her hands. Plus she did write the script for the drama & didn't change a thing lmao

Not really, we do not fight everyone who happens to not ship XL/XY. People are free to ship whomever they like.…
But xiang Liu is not exactly an angel character so why would you be surprised that someone doesn't like him or says anything about which is not worshiping him? It's not like he is a real person. We all have different perspectives on things . Sometimes it's okay to let people remain with their opinions unless it's just too much. If someone watches lost you forever and comes away with an unfavorable opinion of a character I doubt anything would make them change their mind about that character. Even tushan Jing who I feel too good a person to be real has people roasting him and are convinced he is the worst guy ever then what about xiang Liu?
But as I said if you have time to try to convince everyone of your opinion on xl then enjoy coz you have a storm coming since new people are watching LYF everyday

A Question for the novel readers does it have a HE?
It's adapted from a manhua/donghua (anime/manga). It's still ongoing but as you know with cdramas having HE or BE in source material doesn't matter in cdramas as they change endings often

Though I'm happy people are liking gong Jun acting I feel like those who say they're suprised with gong Jun acting in this drama just shows they followed the stereotypes and hearsay from other people or last watched the idol dramas he made in 2018.
Like if Word Of Honor didn't convince you of his incredible acting then I don't know what else could convince you. He has always been good with facial expressions & showing emotions through his eyes. He makes a very convincing bad guy and I hope he does more villain kind of characters like WOH.
