I just wish that they won't drag this because if yes, i don't see the point of continuing it. It's being toxic at that point and watching those kind of scenes won't really help me to relieve my stress (like for real) even if there's a touch of comedy (thus, the funny scenes) plus i know that it happens, it's the reality but still, it's going to add fuel to the fire. I mean, with regards to my mood.
I watched this and continued it despite it being a new kind of drama for me (since like i've said, i always go for youth dramas) because the main character who is Dr. Cha really caught my attention. I want her to show them how capable she is, that she's more than those descriptions that other people around her kept on telling her.
The husband is so manipulative to the point that it's sickening to the core. I thought there was at least a small chance for him to appreciate and see the worth of his wife (I was like "aww" in a scene where-in he picked her up when she passed out due to what she witnessed but after finishing the episode, i was wrong. Unfortunately, he's really a trash) I don't know how Dr. Cha is trying to survive her relationship with him or the fact that she's already used to it (which is obviously sad and distressing) or she's used to it + doing it for her kids
I stumbled upon this drama and I have no regrets. Usually, I go for youth/rom-com dramas because those are the ones that I can relate to but this one changed my mind. I just love how funny yet realistic it was. Of course, it's not something that I can sympathize with but it happens, i know it happens. Not to mention, the acting didn't disappoint me because the cast is immaculate.
As for the plot, it's also great but I do hope they won't drag it (her pain and struggles under her husband)? Because to be honest, i feel sad and hurt about Cha Jung Sook/Dr. Cha. She was also wrong for what happened in the past but she owned it up and apologized for it (ep. 4) I also believe that more than that, she's a victim just as how Choi Sunghee (the first love) was also a victim. The biggest trash here is Seo Inho (her husband). Took the responsibility at first then threw her off when he couldn't see her worth anymore? A total jerk. Perhaps, another one is also his mother because how could she do that to her own daughter-in-law even after so many years of being with her? Like she served you almost all her life. The amount of sacrifices she made for you and her family.
It's also shocking how Jungmin is in a relationship to that woman (correct me if i'm wrong) despite what's really happening like where's the love? or at least the respect? Even if it's for the sake of professionalism but girl, show some respect and be kind.
The second female lead (2FL) and her daughter, they're also the people I couldn't stand. They're annoying as hell. Just because she's the first love and she thinks that she has all it takes to get back to him makes her better than Dr. Cha. Likewise with the daughter, what's with the "a good place to have an affair." I bet she's somehow aware of her mother's affair.
Oh well, glad that this drama has Roy Kim. He is the ray of sunshine in this drama. I just wish it's going to be like that until the end because I don't want him to have that kind of plot twist where-in he turns to be a bad character due to certain reason.
Above all, i just want to say that i'm enjoying this drama and I do recommend others to watch it. Although it has a lot of problematic characters, but good enough to make you realize something.
no ae sol and young soo the blood boiler since part 1 🤣i feel like they didn't even try to end this shit, they…
Indeed like i'd rather have a cliffhanger than an ending that is just plain bs. I already get that it is his character and if that was the case, I wish he could've already done something terrible before (not k*ll*ng though but like to ease his thoughts/feelings because we all know where he is coming from) and then come to his senses but no. He became that mf villain and it just pisses me off.
Disclaimer: To be fair, this is just my cents about the drama. I'm not trying to stop you from watching it because it is still part of it and I think you won't get the whole idea if you won't watch it.
The good points of this drama: • The acting and the uniqueness of every character • The development of majority (except to that a**hole who only cares about CSAT.) • I agree with someone who commented here saying that the main point of this drama is to show how adults exploited these students/teens. The adults failed to protect these children. • Above all, it shows that human beings are still the scariest because of how capable we are and i think this season was able to show it. (The prisoners and some of their classmates)
The bad points: • Ending is somehow rushed. They should've stick with the origin of the spheres. (Honestly, I already expected the flow of this because the moment they've shown the prisoners, I knew it. I'm also aware what was gonna happen with some of the characters especially Ae Sol and Yeong Soo.) • Loophole. Where is Wonbin? He's still alive in S1 right? and yet we didn't see him here in S2. I already accepted the fact that the platoon leader is dead but at least we deserve to know what happened to Wonbin. • Some characters that are plain annoying ever since S1 so it felt like they are just there to ruin the day.
I even said that this is far better than AOUAD, Sweet Home, Happiness, Squid Game, etc. but I guess I have to take it back. :)
The S2 really ruined it for me. I waited and expected so much for this only to get this kind of plot and ending. Although i'd love to see a happy one, of course I already know that it's not gonna happen. Still, i wished it was something more accepting.
Just want to ask if this drama is worth to/the watch? It's been on my list and I'm not sure if I wanted to continue it or not anymore given that it has 16 episodes (which is already getting rare for korean dramas nowadays because they tend to do it by season or parts) I tried watching the first episode but it seems like it's not grabbing my attention.
I thought they will end it with a satisfying scene. I'm already disappointed with how they dragged it but given how they portray(ed) each scene and the lessons that you could get from it, I still pushed myself to finish it until the end. They ruined it. Also, not to be biased because as you can see, he's the one on my profile pic. but the only part that amused me was Jaewook's. He nailed it even if it was like 2 minutes or less.
I was able to finish it until the recent episode and i must say that the POSITIVE SIDE: (1) It's easy and fun to watch (2) The development of the leads (3) It shows how idols can be an inspiration and motivation for the fans, to stay strong and to live their lives. (4) It's also realistic in some aspects, how the idol industry works. (5) The acting isn't bad but not the best either. (6) The grim reaper tho
NEGATIVE SIDE: (1) Repetitive and expected in most cases (2) Although I love the development of the leads, i think there should be a thin line to it? Yeonwoo can express his feelings, how he's grateful to her, how he admires her for who she is but i supposed that's it. It would've been better that way. (3) More than being confident, i didn't like how the ML is arrogant, contradicting to his character i believe?
Part 2 wasn't really what i've expected it to be. 8/10 for me. The process of the revenge was excellent and sort of mind-blowing but the romance was meh. I mean even from the beginning or season 1. I'm fine with the idea of older women with younger men (I was able to watch 18 again at ease where-in LDH was the main lead as well) However, what I wanted to point out was the chemistry. It felt forced or non-existent. I gave tons of chances but I just really couldn't feel it (no matter how LDH's character or Yeojung was persistent in getting Dongeun) Moreover, the ending also feels a bit rushed though it was really satisfying to see how these bullies were able to get what they truly deserved. Overall, it was great for me but not better than season 1.
Thought that this would be 8/10 until the end but i'm happy i was wrong. Definitely, a solid 9/10 for me. The last two episodes made it clear and evident to understand the whole story of the drama though again it felt cramped and rushed but at least it was able to justify almost everything. I, especially love(d) the idea of "light and shadow" though (1) I'm already aware of it due to the title where-in I already expected that it would be between the leads but I just find it really nice because it was well-expressed, the writers heavily emphasized it between them leaving a lot of remarkable scenes. In short, the story and the concept live up to its' title or vice versa (2) However, just like other people, I expected a more refined and stronger Naksu. (Edit: Okay, after seeing some comments about Naksu fighting for most of her life, it made sense to me that this character is somehow more suitable and realistic for her. She's been training and fighting ever since. She's a product of revenge hence to have someone to protect her and be her sword, it gave me a different impression) Still, it is for a fact that this worked and i'm glad that it did. In correlation, I would like to add the scene where-in they got married and she chose to be called as "Choyeong" instead of Naksu, JBY, or Mudeok because to be honest, that was . . incredible. I kept on saying that this drama was made for Naksu, no. Like JBY (with Mudeok) I realized that Naksu is just another identity of her (in the past) so her as Choyeong, the original (born) and current her is *chef's kiss*
Honestly, i wish it has special episodes. I wanted to see more happy scenes. The ending is already quite expected but pretty much justifiable so i'm still satisfied with it.
Im fine with both of them, but its just Do young and Dong eun- you can feel the tension between them. Like my…
For real. The Go house part was the point where-in I realized that "Dang. I want them to be together" The tension that they have and much more that their faces match for some reasons. The way he also look(s) at her and again like i've said, the slow build-up of them getting to know each other. Whereas, it's just ridiculous for me how Yeojung fell in love immediately though there was a scene when Dongeun removed her clothes, revealing her scars to him and the way he reacted, i felt it.
I just finished this few days ago and honestly, I don't have problems with big age gap but I didn't feel any chemistry between SHK (Dong-eun) and LDH (Yeojung). I prefer Dong-eun more with Doyoung (The husband of Yeonjin) Idk. The slow build-up of them getting to know each other, it was far off better.
The ep. 8 was a bit better than the previous episodes but felt cramped. It was like most of the important events just began. Naksu regaining her memories is expected but it was ridiculous how she got it back through Yoon-ok. Even worse that this Heo girl didn't stop her feelings to Uk after all those years and when clearly he wasn't interested to her at all.
It just feels like the Hong Sisters gave up midway in trying to remain creative with the story. A lot of plot…
I read some of your comments below (with other people who had the same sentiments) and I totally agree with majority of them. At this point, rather than treating it as a continuation or sequel to the first season, it's just literally a fan service. Anyway, i'd like to share my other supposedly expectations as well. • A more refined and stronger Naksu / JBY as just a side character 'only' After all, AOS is made for Naksu. • Since the writers said that this season is to focus on the side characters. I was hoping for Danggu and Choyeon. Likewise with Seoyul and Soyi. • A wise crown prince (to outsmart Jinmu) • A more cunning side of Jinmu. He became dumber and weaker because Uk's apparently OP.
Probably a 8/10 for me until the end. Just like what others have been telling, it went downhill in terms of the storyline. I thought that this season would be more intense and tight since it only has 10 episodes plus that's what the ending of the season 1 portrayed but there were still a lot of fillers (which i think could've been used for other important things) and it became cliche than what I've expected it to be. Regardless, i'm glad that the leads along with the other characters have good chemistry. It's the reason why I'm staying.
Since we're starting to get near towards the end of the show, I wanted to share more of my thoughts.
At this point, I realized that despite the dates, this show is leaning more in giving opportunities for the couples to fix their relationship (or not anymore) rather than finding new partners because it would be completely absurd to have new couple(s) as a result of the show. Maybe, a 10% chance but i think if in case it happened, it will not lasts in the future. It's almost the same analogy with two friends. Imagine, the ex of your friend became your new partner. It's just. . not it or strange to think of. They already have ideas with one another (personalities, likes & dislikes, experiences, etc.) and that being said, comparison will always be there, it is bound to happen. Not to mention, the possible regrets and I think not anyone can move on that fast. Also, they might receive backlash from other people (the viewers), questioning their relationship and stuff.
For Ep. 11, it was so much fun to watch. Majority of them were getting along with one another and I'm glad that it was the case because if not, damn, stop the show. Kidding. HAHA.
Dohyeong and Huihyeon's date was very romantic. Huihyeon is just so likeable. She's pretty, nice, straightforward or honest, easygoing, talented, etc. so it's no doubt that every man can be attractive to her. I think we all can empathize with her (except for the military situation) 5 years and yet, they only had one proper date or maybe few. She also feels like they only dated for 1 year and that's sad because it seems as if she's not entirely happy anymore but for the sake of their relationship (to keep going), she stayed. She loves him but the reality is telling her the other way around. Just like what she and Dohyeong shared, their relationship is kind of rare. I think not a lot of partners can wait or can be that persistent for too long.
Going back to the date, likewise with Jeonghun and Jiyu, they're so cute together. I'm happy that the both of them enjoyed being together rather than being conscious about their partners although they talked about it but it was just for a brief moment or a short conversation.
As for Taewan and Hyeyeon, all i can say is i'm not expecting anymore. They're hard to read. One moment, both of them showed as if they completely gave up and then another moment, it's as if there's still a light or hope between them. After the confession, both of them really changed a lot.
Then for Hyogi and Yunseul, I wish they can continue it until the end although Hyogi needs to loosen up more. Like in the game, I expected him to be a bit pleased because of Yunseul's answer with Taewan's question but he was clearly quite upset? I mean, the question was far-reaching but honestly if i am on Hyogi's shoes, I would be grateful. I mean, she was honest and at the same time, she gave an answer that would also make me feel okay.
So far, i'm not rooting for the dates anymore. I think all of them already had their chances in knowing one another. More than the dates, I want them to be just completely honest with each other and spend time (talk, play, etc.) with people who they find comfortable to be with. The next episode seemed to be like it's living up to my expectations. Group conversation would not only help them to know more each other (as a man/as a woman) but to see whether they are having the same path (towards their partners)
Guys,That Prison Guard who wears a hat all the time half covering his face has some sus vibes going on.He knows…
Indeed. A lot of the scenes somehow focused on his face or his character. Plus, he's one of my options as someone who definitely has an access to both inside (the prisons) and outside world. A police after all.
I watched this and continued it despite it being a new kind of drama for me (since like i've said, i always go for youth dramas) because the main character who is Dr. Cha really caught my attention.
