When I was halfway through the drama, I was on yt searching for something related to the drama, and I saw the thumbnail of a video that said "Did Jung Hwan die in a plane crash?" and I was devastated. I wanted to undo time so I could forget about that "spoiler". And then after a few episodes, it was revealed that JH was planning on attending the Air force academy bc of JB, and I was getting frustrated as the episodes kept going. I was sort of preparing myself for the worst. After they start working, every time he left for work, I felt like this could be the end. I then reached ep 20 and 1 hr into it, there was still no news of JH's death. I'm glad they didn't do that. I'd have hated the writers for that! (ToT)
One thing I admire most about Reply 1988 is how deep it dwells into every character. There is no main character in this. Every character had unique and exciting personalities of their own. That, along with the spectacular acting and story, made every second exciting to watch. The creators of this drama have won in every aspect because they've succeeded in hooking the viewers to the street of Ssangmundong and these (unfortunately) imaginary characters. Also hats off to the scriptwriter, the dialogues were phenomenal. Especially those in episode 20-the letter, Duk Seon's narration *chef's kiss*. The music was simply perfect for every scene, it complimented the scenes of nostalgia, humor, romance, sadness, and everything, perfectly.
Aaaaah how do I move on from this? I'm gonna miss Ssangmundong and all of them. Reply 1988 was one hell of a rollercoaster. How do I move on from the loss of the people that do not even exist irl? Thank you to the creators and actors of this drama, you've created a masterpiece!
Was it otherwise similar to A River Runs Through it? I've been looking for something like that ever since I finished…
BUT I watched another drama called Le Coup De Foudre which seemed a little similar to A River Runs Through It, but with some interesting twists and no love triangle. So yeah I'd totally recommend that!

I stopped watching it midway through the 2nd episode as I found the fl too annoying, so I'm not sure about that. But now after reading the other comments I think I should give it a chance.
i tried watching this drama right after watching "A river runs through it", but I found the fl a little too exaggerated in all her actions, so I left the drama right there. Does it get better?
