So, the only ending I will accept, if those that this episode implied died DID actually die is as follows:
Jin Bu Yeon takes over her own body after Naksu and Uk finally get to say goodbye to each other in their own way knowing her energy is nearly all gone, Uk grieves for Naksu, but heads back to Songrim with Bu Yeon where he finds out about everything that has just happened. Enraged with grief for all he has lost, Uk starts to lose control to the powers of the ice stone during the final battle. Then (and I don't know how they will work this given what happened to Naksu's body) Naksu will rock up after some help from Master Lee, preferably in her original body not in a shifted one, and finally with her own energy be able to kick some butt ruthlessly like we have all been waiting to see. She will also help to bring Jang Uk back from the edge. They fight side by side, restore peace and balance, say goodbye and bury anyone they have lost, get married in the final few moments of the show like what would have happened at the end of the last episode of Season 1 were it not for Jin Mu. And the last shot is of them finally together at the top of their tree in each other's embrace looking out over the horizon where all their remaining loved ones are happily existing below in their own version of a happy ever after.
So signs from episode 8 may be possible pointing towards a happy ending?? In the last scene in the forest, Bu Yeon comes across a skeleton with what looks like a blue diamond in it's ribcage. Is this the body of Seo Gyeong an the ice stone that he possessed that would have been inside him like it is inside Jank Uk? Or am I remembering the story wrong. Is this a way that Naksu could be saved?
Really don't know how they are going to end this, but Jang Uk and Naksu both deserve to be happy together after the difficult, lonely and painful lives they have both led.
Personally, I watch JSM's dramas for the longest of time, so I could distinguish the difference in tone. In ep1,…
I think it was a great way to help with the adjustment of the transition of actresses as the leads. Having GYJ's voice as Naksu's internal monologues helps with the reality that their personality is the same despite different actresses. I think it was a clever and necessary touch IMO.
Don't know how I've only just realised, but on rewatching the first season after the first two part 2 eps, it is so clear that Mudeok's internal voice throughout the show is spoken by Go Yoon Jung. No wonder I thought she sounded just the same as Mudeok when she spoke.
9 episodes in and I can't stand Han Yoo Joo, thought maybe that I would have understood her character more by now but nope. For someone a lot older than the FL she has a lot of growing up and finding herself to do.
