Watching the drama then reading the novel is a good order in a sense that you can get a better handle on the characters and access their inner dialogue. The novel is definitely darker so if you are squeamish about gore, abuse, torture, non-con, etc.then it is better not to read it.

I read the novel before watching the drama so I'm gonna be real honest and say I don't like how parts of the drama portrayed YXW/LSS because it weakened her character by the introduction of cliche drama storylines and not showing more of her POV in the middle half onwards. However, I did love how TTJ was characterized and allowed more growth in the drama. Obviously, his actions in the novel cannot be shown in the drama coz it won't pass censorship at all. 😂
