It was supposed to have 2 parts but production decided to compress it into 1 part with 40 episodes but longer running time (50~55 mins instead of 40mins/ep).
This is because a new regulation was released that if a drama has 2 parts, there should be around 3-6mos break in between the parts. I guess production was afraid of losing momentum if they follow that rule.

LYX's portrayal is amazing!
He elevated TTJ's character and even Mingye. I am sure he will do justice to CJM as well. 👏👏👏

Actually, drama simplified some storylines and interconnected so many things that were not quite as linear in the novel.
Novel is also quite sprawling with many side stories and had even more artifacts so I think drama did a good job in condensing it.

This story has multiple timelines actually - not like other xianxia with a very linear timeline - so the resurrections (or lack there of) are a little bit more complicated.
There are several arcs too. We are in the mortal arc now. Not sure if the drama can do the rest of the story justice because of the constraints placed by govt.regulations. This is one drama that could benefit from 50+ episodes. Too bad we ain't getting it.

I don't think I have ever invested so much time and attention to a drama before. TTEOTM brain rot is real! 😂🤡

Drama YXW/LSS has been frustrating but think of it this way, if she told TTJ the whole truth we would have 25 episodes instead of 40. 😂

One aspect I like about the drama is that LSS/YXW shows unguarded moments of caring and even love towards TTJ. She is way more cold-blooded in the novel, admittedly TTJ isn't a paragon there either. 🤣

The dream arc actually retells the events from 10,000 years ago between Ming Ye and Sangjiu as well as the battle of the gods and Devil God 1.0. You can read the Recent Discussion posts about it if you want to get the gist of the story. You might miss some epic scenes though. 😊
