Personally I do, I have collected the books / translations in my phone years ago but never read them, because…
Right? But I really recommend Merebears translations. You can at least read them as ebooks. And those are so much better than those ridiculous offical english books... But I'm happy there's so much stuff to watch. Which show is your favourite so far?
I have an honest question... don't people get curious about the novels this is based on? Am I the only freak who threw herself into the abyss that is dmbj instead of asking the most basic dmbj related questions in a comment section?
Ikr. It would have been super interesting to see the back story of such a legendary figure plus Xiao Zhan would…
Yes ._. I decided to see it as the requel it was supposed to be anyway. I mean, there are the copper fish and the gui seal and everything. I'll stay in my own little happy world :P
Oh, please do! The merebear one was like a revelation... everything suddenly made sense. Believe me, it's absolutely worth it. But I feel you. I also liked the thought of Xiao Ge giving it to Wu Xie intentionally. <3
Been wondering wheres the scene where wuxie drinks ZQL's blood :/ Thinking that they might have cut it lolI dont…
I just looked up the passage in the first book and I think they stayed true to the novel and made him swallow it accidentally when that stuff got scattered in his face. In the novel he did not know what he swallowed either
I found the passage xD If you are interested. And I think, there is a scene where something scattered on his face and he starts to choke. Maybe that's supposed to be this scene. It's hilarious and I really liked that they made it an intentional thing in the first show adaptation, but that really was only in the Lost Tomb Series ^^''
"I was also using all of my strength against him but then the belt unexpectedly broke with a snap. Although it was well preserved, it was weak with age and couldn’t handle the stress.
The belt was made of leather that was covered in small scales that looked like copper armor plating. When the belt split, those copper scales fell on my face like scattered flower petals and the scale engraved with the words “Ruler of Yinxi” fell into my open mouth. I suddenly felt a bitter liquid flow down my throat and choked in disgust when I remembered that the scale had recently been on a dead body. Then, I suddenly felt a haze appear in front of my eyes as if I had fallen into a cloud of black mist."
Oh, You have to! Did you read the official translation? That was so horrible... I read the fan translation just a few months ago and it was such an amazing read, honestly.
I love DMBJ, so I can't watch this and not be biased. I don't know if it's a decent Drama but it's the worst DMBJ/Lost Tomb adaptation I have ever seen. Including the "inspired" Movie Time Raiders. Nothing about this feels right, not in the slightest. So maybe it is fun to watch as someone who isn't too much into the Novels or the other Dramas, but for me, this was an absolute failure.
Sadly it feels like they had to cut a ton of stuff... it's way too fast-paced which really is a pity. I honestly liked how the actors portrayed their roles and would have loved to see more of it.
Now I'm forever lost 😂

I was looking for the song playing during the huge explosions. Do you know that one too?
If you are interested.
