There was no need for ANY cliched trope.. for once they could have given us a peaceful ending... this was the best drama to do that... it is a healing drama and didn't need a cliched dramatic plot point to keep the audience invested... breaking the so called curse of ep 11 (for which Day's failed eye surgery was enough) would have worked for the audience too
