What happens to San Niang's ex-husband and child after they abandon her for the other lady?
It's not revealed yet as of episode 14. When they divorced the husband and his new mistress took their son as well. I speculate that they are going to treat the son like crap. Her son will eventually end up in the Capital back with Sanniang.

Since he could not push her out if the Eastern Capital the next logical step would be to attack her reputation so that she would lose credibility. An episode or two will probably be dedicated to this. And how Pan'er has to prove she is not a frivolous woman.
The story focus on FL, every others things is just a background, to show how FL and ML love each others, so i…
Unless I'm wrong he is going to take a fancy to Pan'er as well. I can't tell for certain yet. I do t know if it's just me but it seems like all of the evil characters have a more grayish tone to their skin. Whereas all the good guys have a more flush color. So I'm in camp that he is evil.
The interaction between the leads is chef kiss. That's what makes the show so good for me. Even when they are seperate they only think of each other. 40 episodes have never felt sooo long.

Interesting. That's definately a possibility I can see happen. Although I hate forced breakups, I look forward to it somewhat, since it will only naturally make their bond stronger when they reconcile and the time together more meaningful.
I forgot to mention the 2 points Ouyang didn't account for.
1. He underestimated Pan'er and her will to survive. 2. Pan'er has a backer in Gu Qian Fan, who is one of the most powerful man in the Eastern Capital. Going to love it when we see OY find out that GQF, a source of envy, is PE's love intrest.
The sign of calendar on ep 27-28... 🤧🤧🤧🤧
I'm prepped for a forced seperation. I hope it doesn't drag too long. Maybe she thinks he's dead? At least the upcoming episodes are suppose to be lovey dovey.
Did anybody else have a hard time liking the ML? 😬 I just started it but yikes. So far he’s kind of a jerk.…
I get you. But, I didn't really have issues. Because, behind his actions there is a reason. In the 1st episode, it was obvious to him that Pan'er hated the Capital Security Office. After delving for a little information he understood why. He just wanted her to not hold on to her hatred (i.e don't be so rigid). That was his lesson to her before he left. Pan'er contemplates his words and really thinks about it, because it's trauma she has never addressed.
The writers did a good job of explaining his inherently good character, cause right after in the boat scene, he explains to his lackey why he did what he did. Pointing out a lot of information with the little information he asked for. His harshness was from a good place and he didn't do what he did just to put her down, and asked his lackey not to trouble her. He's just an indirect person, but deep inside he wants to help.
Throughout the story his lessons have a big impact on Pan'er. He eventually softens up and she realises he means well. Trust me this guy is charming AF. I love him. The chemistry between them is awesome.
what happened to Ouyang Xu in ep 11? Did he break up with the Gao daughter because Pan'Er threatened him over…
Pan'er basically threatened Ouyang that unless he fulfills the conditions on the "divorce agreement" he would be exposed of his prior engagement to her and the ties to the painting she gave him. Ouyang tried to push Pan'er out of the Eastern Capital to protect himself (i.e his new marraige), since if they find out he had a prior engagement with an outcast, or he is found to be an accomplice to a crime (the painting), they would never agree to the marriage and his reputation would be forever tainted. He'd probably never come back from the scandal. Without knowing about the situation with Pan'er, his "father-in-law" broke off the engagement, since as a 3rd graduate he should've gotten a high ranking post, but is bringing shame with his new post.
Since Pan'er is still in the Eastern Capital she can destroy his career and prospects at anytime. So, he opted for an undesirable Official Post far away from the Eastern Capital, knowing that he can always return and rebuild his career/marraige with the potential favor from the Emperor for his service. He's banking on the fact that 3 single woman will not be able to survive living in the Eastern Capital for very long and would not hound him to his new post. (Spoiler Alert: He's dead wrong.)
Ouyang is suppose to be seen as cunning in the show. The actor who portrays him does a good job of making me feel sick. Even when his words and meaning are good, I feel disgust. Part of it, is because he is actually scheming. Behind his "good" intentions is a long insidious plan.
It's really hard for me to imagine a scene where the ML/FL don't end up together, copium. They will get married and grow old together with many kids :)
Not sure. It's evident that he really cares for his son. They have some past beef they need to sort out. He doesn't…
I'm hoping. Praying the story doesn't turn cliche like that. Although it's realistic to happen we have seen it done so much. Another solution I see is Pan'er getting a conferred title (unlikely) or some type of acknowledgement (probable) that she is not just a woman/outcast. We haven't gotten to the restaurant arc yet. Her and co, will definately gain some clout in the end. Family approval in the end would be nice, but it should be, because she proved it with her own abilities and not because of the simple fact that GQF loves her.
To answer. I think it'll come up. I hope Gu's family will accept her in the end wholeheartedly after trials and tribulations.
It not on Netflix but they can watch it on YouTube or WeTv .
Random. Not sure how the rules are in Brazil. Do they have access to VPN and can swap to another country that has EN subs enabled? I do that sometimes to watch region locked stuff.
Not sure. It's evident that he really cares for his son. They have some past beef they need to sort out. He doesn't inherently seem like a bad guy, just trying to plan for his son's future. At that time status is a big thing and we can see how it heavily effects or leads.
I really want to see the dad's support after some prodding by his son.
I am so happy and so amazed at the entire scene when Pan'er opened up to Sanniang. That entire conversation was…
She is jaded and scared. It was fresh to see them dedicate a whole scene for this touching moment. Was really fresh.
I mke a comparison with Ming Lan. She was also jaded and it took her a long time to open her heart up and you had to read between the lines and kind of read her brain and the subtext in the story.
Gonna be totally honest. I shipped ZPE and GQF as soon as I watched the trailers. By the time I finished the 1st…
I'm sure she will have her own arc. It's going to be tough working up for sure. But I believe the writers will do her justice. By the end I expect a matured woman.
SYZ is not so bad. I thought ill of her at 1st and then thought, she actually hasn’t done anything wrong. We…
Gonna be totally honest. I shipped ZPE and GQF as soon as I watched the trailers. By the time I finished the 1st episode, the ship was long gone. Since I knew the implied attraction to GQF, I knew it may cause some potential drama later on, so it was hard for me to like her at first. But imagining being in her situation, totally get why she would fall for GQF. Rescued her, got back her most prized possession. Secretly protecting her. Manly. Good looking. Kind. Damn...I'd swoon too. SYZ will probably get her fair shake from the commenters once ZPE and GQF become official or we get SYZ's love interest. If anything from a realistic point of view. Although it might not be GQF, he has traits that she should be looking for in a love interest.
SYZ has a lot of potential. We see that she is starting to come out of her shell despite being so traumatized. She spoke out first on not wanting to leave the Capital. She spoke out first when they returned to the Capital on opening the Tea House. She tries to help, but I don't think the other "sisters" gave her a fair shake in the early episodes. Her heart was always in the right place. She must have felt so inferior and useless, but she knows her music is awesome. Just haven't gotten her time to shine yet. Looking forward to when she becomes epic and we can finally hear her music.
This is the first long cdrama I'm watching while airing and I'm feeling so chaotic 😠14 episodes in 4 days!!…
I'm not gonna cap. If they released all 40 episodes at launch...I'd have been done watching it all 2 days ago on Friday =P Thank goodness next week looks like the serious woo woo time arc. Can't get enough of them.
I just want Sunniang 's to get vindicated. I hope her son finds her and admits that she's a good mother
Might be spoilers below if you want to stop reading.
They definately get reunited. From what I can tell his step mom and father continue to be useless and he finds his way back to her. My guess is it happens during the restaurant arc, which is around episode 30.
The real question is why MDL's score is lower than Douban. Lol.
I'm waiting until we get to the final episode my friend. I hope the writer/director/team was able to keep up with the pace so far. The previews look fire...so let's hope so.

I just know from the previews ML is going to try to clear the FL's name of something.
