So when LBY's aunt died, he was already planning on seeking revenge without implicating CSS, which was why he…
They way I interpreted from the novel's perspective was that he knew they were going to be seperated. It was sort of a selfish way to tie CSS to him so that she wouldn't forget him. His biggest concern for that moment was that she would forget about him. In the novel, only after 5 years, did the scar start to fade for CSS and that was with scar medication. As long as the scar was there, it would always be a constant reminder of LBY. Maybe it worked, maybe it didn't. I don't know. The fact is, CSS did not marry someone else during the 5 years LBY was exiled.

For LBY, the bite mark and the wire around his wrist were constant reminders of his love for CSS. It helped him to survive during his exile. He needs to survive to keep protecting CSS.

I can't really think of anything else.

I couldn't resist and watched the last episode. And the finale did not satisfy me at all. I mean, it would be…
FYI. That is actually how the original novel ends. The drama added the parts with the Cheng family, which I thought was tasteful. It shows that HBY has a new family now.

In the "epilogue" chapters, CSS and HBY get married. While in HBY's new official post, CSS gets pregnant. She tells HBY that he will no longer be alone. He replies by saying he was no longer alone since he had her.

Several years pass and they have more children. They return to the Capital after receiving word that the Emperor has passed away. HBY helps to establish the new Emperor. More time passes and they even have grandchildren. After finding out that one of the villager from HBY's original post has passed away tragically, the CP decide that life is too short and decide to go travelling together.

The End.

There no official information yet, but maybe TLP or She and her perfect husband
I feel that. I just need Immortal Samsara Part 2 and Love Between Fairy and Devil to finish. Then I need more fluff in my life.

Thanks! I still might avoid TLP since you know it's going to be suffering.

Legit. In the novel she built a life for herself and was rich. And did that whole bomb thing that was removed. So she was keeping busy. She already had everything she ever needed. The only thing she wanted was to be with her loved one. After much deliberation, she decides LBY is still worth it. Other than that betrayal he has always loved her and given her everything. In her own words, no one can treat me better than you can and you like me because of me. I had to take a break and walk around for those moments in the novel with a grin on my face. I just didn't get that from the drama version.

CSS knows HBY has done so much for her and now as someone who wants to stand by his side, it's her turn to return the favor.

What episode did you watch?

I have watched all the remaining episodes late into the night, since I was too eager to see how things unfold…
For your point 2. It wasn't just HBY. I felt it was EVERYONE. Like the time skip just turned everyone into an understanding person. I get that people grow fond when there is seperation and time away...but legit everyone just did a 180. I mean it's plausible, but still somewhat jarring. They were like completely different characters. It's the same with CSS. She is also cold and understanding with no hint of her previous self. In the novel she is still pretty naughty and very head strong.

Point 3. Since you read the novel, it's hard to be satisfied with the reconcilation. Most people say rushed and didn't feel real. Although there were a couple of scenes, it still wasn't enough. I really liked the scene with LBY saying he is going to the borders and will live a good life. CSS unconsciously smiles and suddenly turns sad. I assume she was thinking about the time he brought her to view the stars. We needed more of those scenes to show how torn she is. She wants to be with him but still can't quite forgive him yet. We don't need her to be engaged with YS, but we need her to realize how much she still loves HBY and come to terms of what he did wasn't about her. Cause they really pushed it to be everything was HBY's fault. In the novel she totally understands after a long arduous process of self reflecting. And like you said, there were no stakes, they were quietly safe in a tent when they reconciled and even get to spend the night together before moving on.

Just to be clear, I did enjoy Lusi's acting in their reconciliation scene and I teared up, but yeah... it's not as impactful I guess as in the novel.

Please someone tell me that in which episode they got separated and in which episode they got togather? And something…
Ep 51 - is the final breakup. CSS returns his pendant and HBY is exiled.
Ep 52- Time skip begins and HBY returns, reconciliation begins.
Ep 53 - Confirmation that Yuan Shen and CSS did not get engaged.
Ep 55 - Finally reconcile.

Lou Yao? No. He is a good boy. His sister on the other hand is evil.

You can download an android emulator like NOX, log in to google play, download the Tencent app log in and watch in full screen. I heard some people have successfully mirrored with their iPhones. I don't know if they are talking about the normal episodes, or express episodes.

Other take about the reconciliation scene
As a novel reader, disappointing. There are some bits that were really well done, but it was missing more of the impact. Like after HBY says he wants to protect the galaxy and live a good life and she breaks a smile, but instantly turns sad afterwards. I could feel her sadness and conflict. An unconscious touch or something would have been nice. Or, if she decides to turn around with regret. She just walks away as if moving on. Like no, she should have turned around!

They just needed to do more of those little scenes that remind CSS of her past with HBY like with the horse stirrup. Also, we need more explanation on why CSS is so upset. Show me, don't tell me. Have the face of indifference or telling me later how she suffered, doesn't do it.

Also when they are trapped and HBY says he regrets it and CSS has that look... Nah... like he's been saying that already, so why the sudden difference. Give me something that he hasn't said yet that shocks her.

I don't know. Rant done.

Somebody here said they confirmed a director's cut. I don't know about the veracity of the statement. The ending was pretty well done all things considered. I highly doubt they wrote in the epilogue though. At most, I'm guessing just extra scenes.

It's HBY. I started to make the change, but keep typing in LBY. In the novel, he is HBY after the reveal. He doesn't go by Huo Wushang. Those close to him still call him by his pet name, Zisheng including CSS. Everyone else calls him Huo Buyi or General Huo.

i think you can try iQiYi - is still available to purchase express package.
Hmm. I'll have to make the comparison. I noticed that generally the iQiyi video quality is superior to Tencent's though. Like story of Ming Lan has a noticeable difference across the two platforms, in favor of IQ.

Thank you! I actually have viu Singapore. I noticed the quality is not as good as Tencent. I'm curious just to see if iq is better than Tencent.

I'm going to post a follow up to this later with the novel difference and true ending. If you still are not aware, they never have a wedding in the novel, but they do marry and end up having children and grandchildren, which is explained in extra chapters.

The drama end is almost the same as the novel, with the additional of adding the Cheng family to the mix and confirming that they will get married in Hua County.
