she went back bc she thought the seventeenth prince had died; plus her father's health was in terrible condition. she had come to terms with the fact that she will ever be able to receive all of the emperor's love. with this in mind, she went back to the palace to hopefully receive help from the emperor to save her father + she was sick of the poor conditions she had to endure. the seventeenth prince apologized to zhen huan for killing himself. he didn't want to see zhen huan die, therefore he killed himself instead. he apologized for not being powerful enough to be able to settle down with her.
