I think you really summed up what I am thinking too. I think exactly the same and I have been watching until now with the hope to see Badass Kuea. Alas no such luck yet
Tbf Kuea has been standing up more in the recent episodes, ofc it isnt as much as i would have wanted i think…
But how has he been really standing up to Lian? He had the opportunity of a lifetime to meet a Korean producer and he did not go because he was too scared. When Lian screamed at him he burst crying. The only clalback is he speaking informally and that is not enough for me.
Every week I watch this mess hoping Kuea will finally stand up to Lian and every week I am fucking disappointed. I continue hoping he will show some backbone, he will clap back, give as good as he gets and every time he just folds and does nothing. This is the most disappointing because at the beginning he showed he is capable of doing it, of showing charcater strenght(with the maid, with Lian himself in the first episode), but the last 3/4 episodes he just folds like wet paper and that in my book makes him unfortunately boring.
