besides romance in the novel that is so sweet yet heartwrenching towards the end but ml fl keep strong... i love the rest of the story. focus about war but it's indeed more focus abt tragedy, survivors, the one who stay alive what they experience (the local there, some people just face whatever is, some people still trust their country will recover - it will), for army ... the survivors struggle with severe ptsd T.T, humanity and such... tbh other than webnovel (reborn at boot camp), for same category i like this the most.

normally political commisar of military will find someone to hve blind date... shenbei background is good, and they tried. even though he didn't like it n reject, in beginning of story during eating together, shenbei ask him to come, before he came shenbei proudly said it's her bf, she kinda love to show off her background n him etc. but he is confused bcs he didn't know shenbei introduce him like that before he came. shenbei n her is working in same company n department. bcs of that she start to ignore him/make sure didn't get close...after that n they meet again at war country. at one point shenbei come to exchange role with her (rotation) to meet him but bcs of one arc shenbei afraid aft attack n gone. but shenbei will know abt their close relationship n didn't disturb them anymore n she choose to transfer another department. FL will know he already rejected her, when political commissar told her. so after that she isn't runaway anymore. plus he indeed getting interested with her. in later story for second half of story, xiaonan come there as dr, she started to like ML because he's kind n rescue her (normal as he's soldier to protect ppl there). it same as before they only meet a few times n he ignore her bcs he alr hve gf which is FL. after that xiaonan understand, she also getting hurt bfr so didn't trust men much but trust ML that's why she like him. they don't hve much interaction with ML so it's kinda relief but idk abt drama ver, probably they only kept shenbei arc only
