My mistake--He's 6'2", which does make him tall, but I still think it would be very limiting for Lai Mei Yun to work only with smaller actors.

Regarding all the comments re: the height difference between the ML and FL, please note that the ML is only 5'10" tall, which is nowhere near tall for a male lead! It's just that LMY is so tiny--only 5"0" tall--that it would take a very short ML NOT to look like a giant beside her. Assuming you did find such a man, the couple would together look tiny compared with all the other characters. For instance, in the very first scene, the woman from next door towers over LMY. Either we can appreciate LMY's lovely petite self and accept her MLs as larger companions who also appreciate her or I guess you're saying she's too small to be an actress?
