Needless to say, I am just glad I got it off my chest. Perhaps one day, when I have cooled down, I will rewatch this drama when I have nothing else to do or watch. But definitely not in the near future. I hope that those that love the show will continue to love it but for those that don't (like me) will give it another chance one day just for the sake of everyone else but the FL.

Indeed it is realistic that rumours will spread in this manner but I think its very overdone on how innocent the FL is in just taking it at face value and thinking that personal affairs will mean that one is inept professionally.
I don't expect the FL to be matured but I think FL lacks depth and just common intelligence. I just think that it's terrible the way the scriptwriter thinks that sooner or later, the FL's misdeeds at the start will become endearing to the ML as the episodes go on.
She is too emotional in her actions and not in a good way [it is pretty unrealistic too]. I think this drama is the one that broke the camel's back for me after watching so many renditions of dumb and innocent FLs.
Maybe if you give it more time you would know there's something called character development
See, the unfortunate part about character development for such characters are that it is all very predictable. I'm better off watching something that won't make me scrutinise each and every misdeed of the FL like i'm the judgmental mother of the ML whilst thinking how much better the show could be without the FL. It will save me from ranting after every episode and you having to respond to my comment on it.
I registered this account just to rant about my feelings about this show. I was super excited to find out that this show is finally out but the excitement equals the disappointment. THIS STORY IS TRASH!
The only GOOD thing about the show was everything else BUT the storyline. Props to the acting of Xiao Zhan and Yang Zi.
Perhaps Yang Zi just acted so well that I just HATE FL character more. BECAUSE FL IS FUCKING DUMB and NAIVE. Like what 20 year old sane and educated person behaves like that. Not in the real world they don't.
The FL character is weak, acts like a holier mother than thou, naive for her age which is ridiculous even if she does come from a strict family background. Can you believe A MOTHER F-ING 20 YEAR OLD UNIVERSITY STUDENT WILL ACT SO CHILDISHLY AND ENTITLED. I only watched 2 episodes and there were already a few scenes that DID NOT SIT WELL WITH ME.
On the first episode, to escape her dad, she intrudes into the personal space of the ML. I don't think the ML acted or said anything wrong by not condoning her behaviour. Second of all, she acts like the ML was intentionally looking for trouble with her and her father for lying on the hospital bed of someone else (which he is entitled to per regulations). It is the fact that she always have something to say without acquiescing to the wrongs or misdeeds that she has committed which irritates me. She ain't no dora the fucking explorer who doesn't know better. I bet even dora knows and acts better than this joke of a FL.
Worse of all, she was able to dismiss and slander the ML for having a messy personal life/ nepotism when she only met him in the bar once and only heard a comment made by one other doctor. The FL character clearly acts like she is constantly right about her misconceptions on other people. I don't think watching more episodes of this show will make the FL look better in my eyes. i'm only 2 episodes in and I'm IRATE AF about the FL.
This show does NOT LIVE UP TO THE HYPE. The naivety and "innocence" of the FL trying to chase her dreams whilst knowingly slandering someone (ML) to her friends and family is just disgusting. Naivety and an innocent outlook in life does not give a free pass to the FL to act and behave in such manner where only "HER" dreams are important and that any professional opinion especially from the ML who she thinks holds a grudge on her can be dismissed as just the ML purposely finding fault with her.
Don't get me started about the SFL too. Gao xie does appear to be the perfect match for ML but her imposing her ideas on the ML whilst trying to convince him that ML wanted this at the start of his career is also DISGUSTING. She is a manipulative woman disguised as caring for the ML. I bet she even got her Daddy Gao to withhold the ML's application to transfer. AND THIS IS JUST MY OPINION AT EPISODE 2. I JUST FUCKING CAN'T.
Yes, the ML's character design is not perfect either but I think its the only SANE AND COMMENDABLE CHARACTER IN THIS ENTIRE SHOW.
I dread the fact that such a trash of a FL will drag ML from his pedestal to the grounds of trashville. Dramas where MLs fall in love with an "assertive woman chasing her dreams" but who is in actual fact, MARY SU, NAIVE, INNOCENT AND DUMB AF just makes me go mad. ML can do so much better. I'm just angry. I WANTED TO LOVE THIS SHOW. If this show had a Stronger FL without all these trope-y storyline of oops, I made a mess of myself and argued with you a few times, so now I am memorable and ML will fall in love with me, then I CAN LOVE THIS SHOW. But wtf is this trainwreck of a FL.
I've watched 2 Yang Zi shows. I loved her in Ashes of Love but sadly, her character in Ashes also has similar characteristics. I can barely bring myself to finish the show due to how HOLY MOTHER her character is. Dramas with FL of these kind should just blast themselves into obsoleteness. Too bad audience just eats up all the DUMB NAIVE MOTHERFUCKAS WHO ENDS UP WITH THE ML.
Yes, I admit, I do love it sometimes but sometimes you gotta draw a line too. This FL is just unworthy. Its UNWORTHY of the care, time, money and effort that went into the production of this drama. Yes, I am aware that this show is adapted from a novel but the FL clearly has serious flaws. MORE FLAWS THAN A NORMAL CHARACTER WOULD HAVE BUT IT IS DISGUISED AS FL BEING CUTE/ STANDING FOR HER RIGHTS.
