They never specified the number in the novel. But in the middle of the novel, it was said that Xiao's family (CSS' mother side) is very fertile. They can give birth to 4 sons. Even CSS' mom in the novel gave birth 7-8 times, but only 5 are alive.

I haven't read the novel that far to know what happened to the crown prince after he's been demoted. So I can't answer that one. But about the crown princess, aren't they considered divorced already since she's been demoted to a commoner? When CSS and LBY are on their way to buy the sweets from the market, CSS said, "I thought the Crown Prince would continue his relationship with Qu Lingjun after ending his marriage with the Crown Princess".

When I saw CSS holding a knife from Uncle Wan when Liang Xia hold her as a hostage, I was hoping she would at least stab his thigh with that knife. So it won't be all LBY's effort to save her. I just read that part in the novel, and CSS indeed stabs Liang Xia's waist, and after that LBY attacks him like in the drama. I wonder why they didn't make CSS stab Liang Xia to free herself.

I don't think it's in the novel. As far as I remember, the one being framed by the 5th princess for doing indecent things is LBY and one of the dancers. And it was resolved in private, not in public like in the drama. It also happened the day before the banquet.

The next day after the banquet, that dancer was found dead. Later 5th princess accused CSS of killing the dancer as revenge bcs the dancer claimed that LBY harassing her. But turnout CSS was in the pond with the 5th prince like in the drama (at the time the murder happened). And again, it wasn't announced in public like in the drama.

So I don't think they followed the novel for this scene

I don't think she did, because in the trailer for the next episodes, LBY said he wouldn't know if it wasn't for 5th princess slip up

They should exchange mothers. 5th princess definitely needs some military punishment from Yuanyi haha

The bullying happens from minutes 7:30ish to minutes 12ish. The plan to ruin the reputation is near the end and left with a cliffhanger so probably will continue in the next episode. Other than that it's about the banquet preparation and the banquet itself. We got a few Yishang scenes as well so it's kinda balanced

I don't think emperor and tha gank are there just for lady ruyang. Remember, LBY asked the emperor to act as his elder to propose CSS, since his mom is sick and he didn't want to acknowledge his father and step-mom. Since it's their engagement banquet, it's normal for both their elder to be present. Even when the empress made an entrance, she said to treat her as a normal elder.

Ikr! She knows that CSS' weakness at the moment is the empress so she uses it to drag CSS into the mess. And she knows CSS is LBY's weakness so by dragging CSS, LBY will help as well
