Exactly! The baekdo relationship is just like a part of the whole story but it doesn't totally revolved to that. The show focuses more on their dreams, growth, friendship, career — a coming-of-age series! One of my fave line is in ep 4 towards the end, when yj said that hee do gives him hope, because he as well wants to achieve something on his own. Their relationship is more than just the butterflies and rainbows. Its deeper than that! That is why for me, it is still an approriate ending to end 2521.

people don't want a realistic ending now? Among the other kdramas, this is one of few appropriate and realistic story we can encounter. So, people prefer the clichè happy ending story? A lot of stories are already like that. That is why some romance kdramas are getting boring because its predictable each time because you know the leads will end up with each other unlike 2521. It keeps you hooked until the last episode hehe

I hope people will not give this drama a low rating just because of its ending : ( Overall, it is still one of the best drama so far in 2022 and it still deserves a high rating. Personally, I am ok with the ending (tho I also think that ep15-16 was a bit rushed). It could've be better but it is not dissapointing at all!! Realistically speaking, its very rare to end up with your first love. The important thing is that you had happy memories with them right? The baekdo young ver. ending scene is really goood! They did not end with pain, hate, and regrets with each other. They preserved their pure love with thst ending scene (bus stop & tunnel scene).... I also don't think old heedo went to that place because he is still "in love" with yj. I think she was just relieved that yj knows what she really meant during their confrontation and she even received a diary entry from yj. They are still each other's first love. I think its natural that your first love has a lot of impact to your life.
