A remake means that a company buys the rights to produce a new version of another company's work. Plagiarism is something else entirely. In 1922, director F.W. Murnau failed to secure the rights to adapt Dracula. Instead, he made Nosferatu—he changed the monster's name, but it was clearly plagiarism. At the time, he was sued, and many copies of the film were destroyed. In 2023/24, we got two more remakes of Nosferatu. As they say, ‘what goes around comes around.’ Good stories will always be retold—especially when they make money for producers.

Este drama é o remake do coreano "Discovery of Romance / 연애의 발견" (2014). -- This drama is a remake of the Korean series Discovery of Romance / 연애의 발견 (2014). The Chinese producers employed a dual marketing strategy: for international audiences, they kept the English title of the original Korean version, while for the domestic Chinese audience, they crafted a clever pun using the protagonist’s name (Xia Tian, which means ‘summer’). This creative decision tied the story to its heroine and appealed to local viewers through poetic cultural resonance. If you watch the remake, you’ll notice how ‘summer’ (or Xia Tian herself) lies at the heart of the narrative!
It’s not about wanting to "know it all" — but about seeking to understand different cultures and learning to appreciate their uniqueness.
Is this remake of princess agent or it will continue the story of that remaining story ?
"The sequel to Princess Agents is titled Rebirth From Ice Lake (楚乔传2:冰湖重生). It is a Chinese drama that will continue the story of the original characters"
Zhao Jin Mai is amazing! She is talented, intelligent, and has just the right amount of beauty and sensuality to avoid being objectified by the industry. I believe she has a good agent because, so far, she has chosen great roles. I look forward to her other projects with my fingers crossed.
The author needs to find the right balance. How much I needed to convey the horrors of the war? How much is needed…
All the issues you identified in the script originated from the novel. When adapting it, the screenwriter had the opportunity to improve the story, but for some reason, she didn’t. That said, the actors’ performances, especially those of the main characters, were excellent. I really enjoyed it.
Even though the writing is bad, I can understand why CZY and LJ took on these roles. They are expanding the limits…
Every actor should explore a variety of roles. Liang Jie is a talented comedic actress—her performance in *The Day of Becoming You* is outstanding. However, while making people laugh is often more challenging than making them cry, comedic actors are frequently underappreciated. I believe Liang Jie is now striving to take her acting career in a new direction. (I’ve read the novel for her upcoming drama, which also touches on themes like PTSD.)
As for TWOT, aside from the director’s lack of creativity, many of the show’s issues stem from the original novel itself. I had hoped they would address its flaws, but from what I’ve seen, they’re sticking to the source material line by line. 🫤
I feel for them ... How can they get better when there's a lost right after another... My heart breaks for them…
No one is prepared for violence. But after what happened, they both had no emotional structure to deal with a war zone. If I were their father and mother, I would have tied them up at home.

From what I've seen, it's very similar to the novel, especially the performance of the two protagonists.
