After rewatching it, I actually really liked the main couple's chemistry. They were really funny and cute together. And I must say, whoever wrote the dialogue did a nice job. I loved the ML's doctor friend. Lol, he was like "Oh I forgot you're stupid" to the ML.
The story did seem to drag a bit though. So many unnecessary deaths. If they had all just taken everyone for a DNA test, there could have been fewer casualties. They could have focused on some other stuff too, like the Main guy's background, the Main girl's dad, and maybe even the bad girl's background. I would have liked to see more interactions and convo between the main couple because they actually had some nice chemistry with each other.

It was interesting at first but it got slightly boring towards the end that I started skipping around. It got dark too unexpectedly. I started to feel bad for the main actress because of how much crying they were making her do. Like in almost every episode in almost every scene, she is crying somehow.

Whaaat, that is so stupid then. He got so much manpower and resources under him and he had to do all that still just to kill her? He kind of sounds like an idiot. But her sister's kidnapping seemed accidental though. Like it didn't look planned.

That is weird, but maybe it might have to do with them not wanting people to think that they were "stealing" the project or something since the original translator never officially said that they were dropping it. But I don't know. What translator do you use? I have been using multiple ones (yandex, google translate, and systran) but then I had to stop for a while cause it was starting to mess with my brain lol.

Huh? He didn't coerce her into a relationship in the first life time, did he? In their first life, she wasn't his mistress at first because ML's friend came and asked him to spare the FL from punishment. The ML's friend was in love with the FL's second older sister, but they couldn't be together because of a scheme that resulted in the second older sister having to marry to a prince far away (Their story in the first and second life is actually kind of heartbreaking). After he finds out that his friend was involved, he decides to keep the FL and her younger brother hidden away in his mansion. He sends the younger brother to be taken care of by a well-known teacher because of some reason, but keeps the FL in the mansion. It wasn't until later in their first life that they then slept together or something. ML fell in love with the FL and wanted to marry her but FL didn't want to implicate him because her family background. So she lied and married her childhood friend, who had liked her from the beginning. ML was heartbroken nd then died and so on. Sadly the novel is not completely translated, but you can find the spoilers on Novel update forums. If you type in Changan first beauty spoilers, you will find it.
I really like this novel because you see a lot from the ML's perspective and its interesting. I also liked the FL too, in that because she is so focused on her family, he is never really a part of her imagined future when she reunites with her family.
