Exactly. His motivations are explained in the show. He did not think such a good person exists in the world and sought to tear down what he believed to be YSL's mask and reveal that they are actually the same.

bruh just don't want if you can't take her voice. she sounds about the same in every show. the difference is whether she's exaggerating it for the character or making it deeper for the character.
It's likely that the other guy's mum or dad is related to iljo's stepmother - mother of his abusive older bro- That way it makes sense that they are cousins but also makes sense that they aren't related.
Of course if Iljo actually isn't related to his dad then it doesn't matter.
