Half the point of the show is her fixation on the script lol
His goal in approaching her for power is what led him to kill her in the og script, she knew that and that is why she tried to avoid it so much or even get a headstart by killing him first.
It doesnt matter whether the iconic scenes happened exactly the same as in the script or not. You said it yourself, she didnt fully read the script, even if she did, she likely didnt retain every single info. Only the iconic scenes stood out to her. So as long as those scenes happened, to her things were following the flow of the og script.
Of the iconic scenes that happened at the time, only the one were LSL was the one to save her instead of NH left her puzzled as the others had happened as she remembered it. key word 'as she remembered' [She's not meant to be a perfect narrator lol]
She's not supposed to suddenly think that LSL is Nan Heng because she's simply unable to put the two together. To her LSL wasn't even in the og script.
As for the incident with Yiting, Nan Heng and Yiting came to an agreement and decided to not say anything thus she wasn't able to learn the truth of what happened till much later.
Also when did I say all the scenes happened through compulsion? Only scenes that were needed to further plot points in the og script compelled the leads.
You keep saying she should have used her brain to think but its like you expect her to be an all knowing flawless character. She skimed over the script because from the few pages she read, she saw that it was a typical story she'd seen done multiple times-very evident by the use of popular tropes - thus she believed that she knew how the story would play out and did not need to read the full thing.
That self assuredness followed her as she got into the novel and it became even more rooted as she saw each iconic scene being played out regardless of how much she tried to change things. It's literally a play on the assumptions people make and how they think what they know is the whole truth. She does the same wjth the other characters as well - assuming them to be typical characters in a palace/romance/intrigue drama. but as she got to know them more, she discovered that was not the case-

WDYM he's not someone who would try to harm her without reason? He literally tried to use and kill her multiple times in the beginning for his own goals. She was so obsessed with Nan Heng's negative image because no matter what else happened, those 'iconic scenes' ended up happening one way or another. To her that meant somehow he was gonna end up killing her and annihilating her family. No matter how much she tried to prevent those iconic scenes they ended up happening. So idk how else she was supposed to react.
Did she know he endured lashes to protect her dad? We viewers know that and we know as well that no matter what he wouldn't harm her and her family however she needed time to come to terms with that and give her all to change these predetermined scenes.
Also it's like you're forgetting that sometimes, they are literally forced to fo certain things even if they don't want to simply because its the rules of the writer.
She never wanted to plead to her father to marry him, he never wanted to save her multiple times in the 1st couple of episodes, nor did he want to stab her at the 3 way stabbing scene. However they ended up being forced to do these things. He had to figure out another way wuth the 3 way stab scene but he was still initially propelled to stab her.
So while being aware of that, even if she trusts that Nam Heng would not hurt her willingly, can she trust her wouldn't unwillingly do it if forced by the script?
Also I feel like a lot of viewers fail to understand that the characters in the show are not us. They do not possess all the information we do. They navigate their world, make certain choices, and respond to those choices based on what they know. We know more than them and thus we can say "oh no don't trust that person, they're actually the one who effed you over" and the like.
You can't judge characters in a show for things they do or say based on info you already have in hand but they don't. Nor can you expect them to magically know these things as well.
I don't understand the amount of hate the FL is getting. Especially those saying that she's only focused on killing him. Like duh of course she is. In her view, he's gonna kill her - and he certainly attempts to do so multiple times until he's forced to not be able do so before willingly not wanting to kill her himself as the show goes on -
Not saying I agree with how she treated him in total especially towards the end before they got together, but I certainly could understand where she was coming from.
CC didn't lie to WSW about his ex though. When did he do that?
I thought CC was admitting to working with the doc to get WSW to sleep with him. I recall CC thinking the doc made stuff up when WSW was talking about the ex. CC merely threatened the Doc as he knew he understood WSW best and was very close to him. How the doctor went about it though wasn't CC's business.
Also does anyone know if there will be a time skip? From the clip I saw of their kids, they look to be 6 to 8 yrs old. Unless ABO kids grow differently?
