people rationalizing it by saying wElL iTs HiSToRy are weird too idc 😭
Actually you are quite wrong. Wealth does not actually matter when it comes to these marriages. What DOES count is which faction they belong too. And also the fact that they have to be noblewomen. Ha Na is an unmarried noblewoman whose father was a close childhood friend of the king. So she does perfectly fit the criteria. The only issue though is her age. But factually speaking such age gaps were quite common back then. I mean there has been multiple male main characters whose pairings were much much younger than the crown prince in this drama. And we very rarely see it being made an issue.
Also why is no one talking about this inappropriate pairing other than on MDL??? This is super weird
Such pairings were actually normal back in the day. Although this is an oddity in our times (illegal even) we should also remember the timeline in which this story is taking place.
Why is the mother of the three old spinsters insisting the main leads are not meant to be when they obviously…
it’s probably because of the fact that the mother worries that Soon Deok would face criticism from the society (which could also lead to her death) for being in a relationship with the widowed son-in-law of the king. she did what she did out of concern, and tbh both of them did need a reality check at this point in the story since it IS considered an immoral act. So basically neither of them can actually act on their feelings at this point. Unless both of them are dissolved of their familial ties.
It is bad enough that she sleeps with her ex-boyfriend and meets with her boyfriend the next morning like it’s…
and the fact that she kept making the second lead seem like the bad person? YUCK. She literally cheated on him and had the nerve to act all high and mighty.
This drama had the PERFECT amount of angst, and the plot-line was extremely gripping. And for those who are saying that this had a lot of cliches, I'm sorry but did we watch the same drama? maybe some of the themes might have been similar to the older k dramas but this drama was anything but a cliche. And the last four episodes WERE THE BEST. It was absolutely necessary for the plot. Some of y'all be watching kdramas only for the romance and when it doesn't go the way you want it to y'all start trashing the show.
