A whole new kinda k drama with artistic aspects you said? Sorry, but the execution feels just like other k-dramas…
Although I agree with you that episode 10 was pretty weak and it should have been started from episode 8 to show JaeEon's development but I think you are missing NaBi's development.
The NaBi in episode 10 took responsibility of her decision, she expects a vary of outcomes from choosing this relationship (mostly bad probably), that is very different from NaBi in episode 1 hoping to change or make something out of JaeEon. I agree that it sounds boring but this is a wall a lot of people can't get past in real life and pointing fingers to outside for their troubles. This is almost as good as NaBi choosing herself over the two candidates.

I gave it all ten too, but not because it was perfect (which certainly was not) but because of the hate it was getting. Currently it is scored 7.6 , If Im not wrong it was around 8 right before episode 9. Probably it hit people too personal for them to it such bad scores because the visuals and OST alone is enough for an 8. I think a little maturity is a must for one to enjoy this show.
Pretty good review I hope your review gets more exposure. I would only argue with your conclusion on the ending, although I somehow agree by the "101 kdrama in the later episodes" being a downer for the series but I think what makes the ending blunt is how fast the leads progressed in a span of 45minutes especially NaBi where she goes from "I don't want to talk to you" to "omg he loved me" in a blink of an eye. They could made the progress of the last episode into last 3 episodes and would have had a stronger finish. It's a shame because the conversation she had with JaeEon in the gallery where she says she knows what she is getting herself into could have been more emphasized and be the moral of the story on how people should be responsible for their own decisions. Lots of comments are criticizing what characters chose but in real life most of these people do the same (I know I did) with out taking responsibility for their choices, a lot can be learned from that conversation.
I am surprised people still call this a toxic relationship, NaBi clearly stated she knows what she is starting that she might regret it or not end up happy. This is the pillar of a clear choice, expecting a series of outcomes based on past events (wether statistically your expectations are true or not is another conversation). They couldn't start their relationship more honest than this, there was no manipulation, no lie and even JaeEon kept all the space she was pushing for. People go to therapy for this enlightenment our lead got it for free. Im not saying they are good fit for each other or not, it is about choices and consequences, they got in knowing what they are getting themselves into.
So much aggression. I understand you are trying to convey a positive massage but debating this furiously won't solve anything and just demotes your own rational in the conversation and only results either with more defense or escalation. You can't force someone to think like you even if you are factual and right. He wasn't even disrespectful in saying his opinion.
To those who come and read the comment section and think this is not a good drama, it's because this drama is not the usual kdrama and breaks some sacred traditions. It is mostly based on reality of college life (well if the college people were super attractive) where people are making decisions with not much experience so mistakes are bound to happen. This decisions may seem idiotic to the viewer, it is not because the story is badly written (could have been better but not at fault) because people at young age are inexperienced. Just watch it, ignore the comments.
To those who think JaeEon suddenly trying to change is insincere, how do you know he really mean it or not? People breaking down in their belief system is a pretty common thing. Out of all these characters the one with the most clear intention and honesty has been JaeEon he always said what he wanted, he regularly checked with NaBi that is she ok with what they are doing or not(not ignoring him trying to push boundaries but still he does it carefully). Only time he is hesitant is when he is trying to express his feelings for NaBi whom understandably is not able to believe him, they both lack non sexual intimacy skills. Now this doesn't mean trust JaeEon blindly, a lot of people here defending JaeEon are not defending him blindly either. It takes extra work to build trust in a relationship with someone like JaeEon(even if most of his shady past comes from gossips by others).
To those who romanticize DoHuyk as the obvious choice whom NaBi should save herself with, that is not real life. DoHuyk (can be assumed so debatable) is coming from a less Interactive environment with females(in the webtoon he said he always fall for girls who where already in a relationship). He is kinda obsessed with NaBi so the question is will he remain sincere in the long run ? In the episode 9 DoHuyk had a worrying conversation with NaBi. There is a difference when JaeEon talks about DoHuyk, JaeEon talks about the state of relationship of NaBi and Dohuyk but DoHuyk asks NaBi why are you choosing JaeEon in other word JaeEon wants to know what will happen to his relationship with NaBi, DoHuyk is criticizing NaBi. Now tell me who is controlling and who is not?
To those who criticize NaBi for the idiocy of her choices, welcome to real life. Just put yourself in her shoes, someone who has a fractured family resulting with holding baggage from past. Then going to a relationship being cheated on and used, how can someone with this amount of mental wound think clearly, set boundaries clearly and decide the best decision for herself (especially at such a young age)?
To those who become extremely frustrated with characters choices and words like the recent rain scene between the leads that makes you project this frustration outward in this comment section and be aggressive toward other people, I think you should seek someone to talk to, this is just a show and not worth it to get aggressively vocal about it. Maybe there is something from the past bothering your psyche. (just to mention I've gone through it too seeking help, helps)
Idk I personally find these reviews to be hypercritical. This is actually a very enjoyable drama and I normally…
Pretty spot on. I have been reading most of the comments here and engaging with others. Really interesting comment section. Yet Im not sure how much of the stark contrast in opinions is caused by cultural backgrounds or related to ones dating history. One or two longish relationships will teach you enough to see through problems/shenanigans of the characters despite whatever strict culture you are from or maybe Im too dismissive of the culture's effects on ones mental defenses.
Would y’all say this is worth watching?? Like there is two episodes left and I kinda wanna know if it looks…
I think this drama is more expressive driven than story driven. The story doesn't have anything special about it, pretty much day to day young people life would look like this with a little surreal-sparkle to make it TV worthy. It really doesn't matter who she ends up, the reasoning why she makes choices that may or may not end in regret are the highlight of the show and not just Nabi other characters as well. There is a well diversified set of emotions being portrayed.
time to get an eye test to see if you are colour blind... there are plenty red flags
It is related to ones experiences in life, redflags or in general what people want in their partner is pretty subjective, some are more defined than others and accepted broadly like honesty, trust, sharing and etc. Having that in mind; JaeEon has some good characters that you can start a relationship with (IF he wanted). He is honest and when ever he feels something he tells it as direct as possible, yes he has bad ones too but honesty outweighs them. NaBi had an ugly relationship and she has not dealt with the emotional stress of the relationship (and possibly the similarities it drew from her past with her mom). If you know you have these struggles and try to go in a relationship head in first, you are projecting to the outside world instead of trying to solve them within yourself. This is a bad redflag. DoHuyk until now looks like someone who would make excessive out of his way sacrifices for his partner. That (in real life) usually builds expectations from both sides that always end unpleasant.
Start-up was a total mess, nothing made sense there. This is fundamentally different. It portrays youngling-life…
The story is about a)A young girl wanting to prove herself and be a CEO of her own company b)3 male fiends whom dream of starting an A.I company c)A successful angel-investor who is looking for meaning in his life. The story starts astonishingly great. You find out at first that the investor was dirt poor in his high school days and the grandma of the young girl helped him get on his feet and the back story of the young girl and why she was motivated to prove herself. One of the 3firends falls in love the young girl with the help of investor and gets more complicated at it goes because the investor finds out that he loves the young girl too. From this point on nothing makes sense with the choices of young girl and the unseen idiocy of the three friends all while the investor is trying to help. I dropped it at episode 12, apparently the girl and the one of the "three male friends" end up together. I was happy I dropped it. If you want to hit your head on the nearest wall you can watch this.
did it turn as bad as start-up did ? I'm not watching yet
Start-up was a total mess, nothing made sense there. This is fundamentally different. It portrays youngling-life beliefs and decisions ones make and how to deal with the consequences that follows. It sometimes does feel slow but I would watch it, you can compare your own experiences with the characters and go through the "feelings". Overall quite a different show than average kdrama.
Ok maybe an unpopular opinion here, everyone and I mean everyone knew that Jae eon does not date. He was very…
This is my popular opinion. I am really curious to know this comment section's age and number of prior relationships, a lot of views here are naive in terms of romantic experiences. It's obvious DoHuyk has not had any relationships, his trying too much, going overboard and aggressively kind attentive attitude is usually off putting, There is no balance in his approach to NaBi. JaeEon is just the opposite end of DoHuyk but he is balanced(not that he is balancing his act logically) that at least makes him more attractive. Kdrama's charm has always been the innocence of the characters hence I think this is why people are loosing their minds over the characters here.
people who read the webtoon, has this show been loyal to the original plot in the most recent episode?
We have diverged. In the webtoon JaeEon tries redemption by dating SeolAh and tells about it to NaBi, NaBi mess this up out of jealousy by saying the "JaeEon like hair tied back" line to her, it can be interpreted JaeEon tries to take revenge on her for that by sleeping with her again and bailing. The plot is not explored a lot so it is a little blurry but JaeEon's bad intentions toward NaBi through out of the end of their relationship is pretty clear. Then she kinda glides over completely into DoHyuk. In the drama JaeEon is apparently trying his redemption with NaBi and DoHyuk kinda competing for NaBi is new.
I get what u mean, and I'm curious abt those questions too, hopefully we'll get at least half of them answered…
Well in the webtoon in order to recover she kinda took shelter in DoHyuk's kind attentive attitude towards her after she found out JaeEon wanted to just sleep with her and bail. In the drama, there is no tangible reason to run off to DoHyuk and then JaeEon is showing real dedication to make this work so webtoon's ending at this point seems illogical. NaBi ending with JaeEon also may look a little rushed, its not easy for someone sleeping around to change at such a speed. Until NaBi doing something to push JaeEon like make him jealous or hopeless to truly open up. I think NaBi ending alone would be the most realistic one but this is fantasy world and from fans reactions and the chemistry on the set she will probably end up with JaeEon.
I get what u mean, and I'm curious abt those questions too, hopefully we'll get at least half of them answered…
The webtoon has two turning points. In the middle of story JaeEun decides to date his ex SeolAh and try for real to see what happens. NaBi kinda mess this up out of jealousy when she sees the butterfly lighter in her hand by saying he likes the hair to be tied back (Thats the only time we see SeolAh, the character is not villainous at all as in the drama). Story doesn't explore what happens after that between SeolAh and JaeEon but NaBi has immense guilt and ducks JaeEon's calls right after that incident. With the last conversations between NaBi and JaeEon it can be implied that JaeEon wanted to take revenge on her for what happened. The next one is right at the end, when NaBi sees DoHyuk receiving attention from girls because of his YouTube channel and probably releasing/fearing that DoHyuk maybe can do something like other men in her life at the same time she sees JaeEon nearby flirting with someone and the tone of her monologues gets dark/hopeless. NaBi is more or less the same as webtoon maybe less affections toward DoHyuk, JaeEon doesn't show any emotions in the webtoon and his only goal is to sleep around (apart from SeolAh). The story's main lead is NaBi and her obsession( or having hard time coping) with relationships. About her insecurities and childhood problems she experienced through her mother's relationships. She is stuck at the idea of "real love" and wants to prove it to herself that real love exists. Thankfully in the webtoon at the end she comes to some realizations but not fully, she still fails to see herself's fault and responsibility. I don't think we get to explore JaeEon in the drama much more than this.
