I mean I’ve only seen the first episode but I liked it. The acting isn’t too over the top, quite a few of the jokes landed and the cast have good chemistry
SBS haven’t done a short drama in a long time! But this looks like it could be great, so I’m hoping it is received well and we can get more in the future!
Already reached 18.8% after just four episodes! That’s a very fast climb for a weekend drama these days!
For example; Iron Family didn’t rate that high until episode 30, Beauty & Mr Romantic didn’t until episode 36, and Live Your Own Life came close in its second episode (18.4%) but wouldn’t actually get to 18.8 until episode 25!
Seems like it’s a flop in Korea, which is a shame. I like shows like this that are completely unserious and silly. They don’t come along often and are great to just put on and relax to. But the show got 2.1% for its first episode and then dropped to just 1% for episode 2, so it’s clearly not resonated with Korean audiences
After this one kinda lost my interest on watching another KBS family drama for a bit. This drama was so exhausting…
I don’t know if Iron Family which starts next week will be any good, but it is from the writer of Pasta, Wok of Love and Jealousy Incarnate. I don’t think those shows are perfect but they have well-written relationships and remain quite light-hearted throughout with little melodrama, so if her writing is similar for Iron Family I have hope it will be much better than B&MR
After watching Kim Sa Kyung’s last drama, Young Lady and Gentleman, I swore I would never subject myself to her writing again. And based on the reactions I’m reading to this drama… I made the right choice 😆 I’m sorry you all had to go through this
She was in middle school. Of course even being a bystander to that behaviour is bad, but are we gonna let a 34 year old woman’s career get damaged because of some sh** she was tangentially involved in when she was barely a teenager?
I’d be more excited if I didn’t already know that these 24 episodes are gonna end in some sort of cliffhanger for next year’s second season. Penthouse really felt dragged out by the end of its 48-episode run and I worry this will too, but I guess we will have to wait and see. Cast is good, though.
Personally I really enjoyed the first couple episodes. Kind of quirkier and sillier than your usual KBS2 revenge makjang but I dug the vibe and the lead cast.
For example; Iron Family didn’t rate that high until episode 30, Beauty & Mr Romantic didn’t until episode 36, and Live Your Own Life came close in its second episode (18.4%) but wouldn’t actually get to 18.8 until episode 25!
My Father is Strange, Once Again, Five Enough.
Those three have really set such a high bar for daily dramas and I’m always hoping to find the next series that reaches their level
