So...I am enjoying this show, it's cheesy, over the top and kinda twisted and I like that. And that's fine because it is a story, and the characters aren't real. Most of the world isn't black and white, so shows that show the grey area (especially where consent is concerned) should have the freedom to do that.
HOWEVER!! Ye Sing Xi stepbrother got him drunk to have sex with him because he knew Ye Sing Xi wouldn't do it sober. Which is straight up manipulation. If that was real relationship Fu Yong Jie's behavior would be a RED FLAG that the relationship could become abusive emotionally or physically.
My worry is that somebody might watch this show and see this scene and come away with the idea that it's okay to treat people that way, or that's it's okay to be treated that way.
This might be kind of a strange recommendation for beginners. But because there are so many Chinese dramas out there, and they can be so long, sometimes it is helpful to ask for vague spoilers in the comment section (provided you use the spoiler tag). That way you don't spend 50 episodes of your life on a drama where your favorite character doesn't have a happy ending. Or the couple you were shipped doesn't get together. This is also a personal preference because I don't usually like dramas with tragic endings, and I also only have so many hours in a day. However I find that Chinese dramas (also Korean dramas) are much more likely to end their shows with characters deaths and tragedy. So Be Prepared!!

I agree with you, FL i really like. And the ML i also like ( i do think he's a bit arrogant). The other characters are pretty annoying though. I mainly skip over those parts.
