Mobius: A time-toop drama that lived up to my expectations
Mobius is a good time-loop thriller with a backstory about genetic experiments and the ethical questions they raise. The MoMa case, which is the focus of the episodes, felt really well-developed. Each loop revealed a new clue and a different angle of that day until all five loops were completed.
Big thanks to Bai Jingting for Ding Qi. A guy who suddenly discovers he can perceive time loops and, over the years, decides to use that ability for something bigger. His performance as a detective is believable and gives us a smart and slightly comedic lead who knows how to work with his team to catch the final villain.
I have mixed feelings about the ending: it tied things up, but that last scene wasn’t really my favorite
I’m not a fan of open endings, but that said, I’d still recommend it
I really enjoyed all 16 episodes.
