I watched this without watching With You first. So, yes you can.

This show is a part of a trilogy written by Ba Yue Chang An. They occur simultaneously.

With You covers the love story of classroom 5.

My Huckleberry Friends covers classroom 3 x classroom 2.

The third one of the trilogy is currently being cast (iirc). It will cover classroom 1.
The title of the last one should be something like "Secretly in love with Sheng Huai Nan". If you remember Sheng Huai Nan, he is the really, really smart guy in classroom 1 in With You. (I have heard that a different actor has been cast to play him in the upcoming show)

I hope you can persevere! It's such a great show.

I added quite a few of the actors to MDL since it seemed like leaving out such cool actors and no one knowing who they are would kinda suck.

Truly a masterpiece.

Since I've finished the show, I have deemed it quite hilarious and definitely worth a gander.

Coming from a Chinese family, when I chose to go into Liberal Arts, my parents were both really, really against it. It's something that still follows me today despite being in a graduate program in my field of studies. Often times at dinners they'll talk about how much money my sibling makes as an engineer and how great a life I would be living if I went into the sciences.

Much like the girl, I went into Liberal Arts because it is what I liked. And much like her, I faced resistance to my decision.

This episode was really good in depicting the struggle as a Chinese kid being forced to pick between what you like doing and what others want you to do because they "know best".

I feel like this will be a great show.

This show is so dragged on and slow... oh my god.
