In most of the kdramas which I've watched, most of the troublemakers in the family or, for e.g. Chunsoo's ex-wife, often use emotional blackmail to get their ways.

I have also read of Korean celebrities' fathers or mothers who neglected and abandoned their children. But when their children became celebrities with a huge bank account, they come demanding (not asking) for money.

I remembered thinking to myself, "What happened?/How did the ML or FL become like this" after a time-skip. 

I did not enjoy Golden Life.  I found Shin Hye Sun's acting very weird because she did not look at her co-actor/actress whom she was speaking to but kept looking downwards in most of her scenes.  No chemistry between ML and herself too.  Honestly, I cannot recall the story, only that I did not enjoy it. 

I have watched Once Again but cannot recall the story too except he main couple was not getting along.  But I can recall clearly older ones like What Happens to my Family/Five Children/My Husband has a Family. ☺️

The next weekend drama is from the same PD and Writer of Golden Life?  Omo! Omo!

Eagle Brothers is, by far, one of the most heartwarming and well-written family dramas.  I will miss it very much when it ends.

True, if Kwangsook can even conceive at 45!
That's why I said this is kdramaland.  I remember two kdramas where the FLs' mothers got pregnant.  One was in her late 40s while the other was 50! 
Imagine running after a one-year-old and then carrying a toddler too.
Nah!  Not a great idea to have children after 40.

My preference is that they remain childless because it will be a high-risk pregnancy with problems.

Yes, I think so too that the time lapse would probably be at least 1 year but could be just over 1 year. Did you notice that the Writer deliberately did not give us a clear time lapse? Could it be that how long one takes to grieve is very subjective.

I am guessing it has been almost a year when I take into account Chunsoo's marital problems and how he overdosed on sleeping pills, Kangsoo's navy accident and how he looked for a
job and Beomsoo's marital problems too. I think it is more likely just over a year.

mj, I have always hated time-skip because I will miss how they got through their problems as I will only get to see the characters in a good position in life after the time-skip.

Chunsu has already emptied his bank account to give her alimony. His problem now is more difficult to resolve than Beomsoo and Seri problem.
Misun might have to live with a stepdaughter too and deal with a demanding ex-wife. 🫣

That's why Jusil raised her arms and said there is no end to their troubles. 😄

Episode 32 made me cried buckets of tears.
Kwangsook's crying scene in her truck made me sympathise with her conflicting emotions.  On the one hand, she has romantic feelings for Dongseok but on the other hand, she felt guilty that after just one year or so, she has already fallen for another man. 
Although she did not mention it, she must also be concerned about gossip that Eagle Brewery managed to get out of some difficult situations only because Dongseok, the main buyer of Eagle Brewery makgeolli, provided her assistance because he has a thing for her.  Or worse, that she is in a relationship with him, that is why he has been helping her. 

But she needs to realise that once she misses this opportunity to have a personal relationship with Dongseok, it might never ever occur again. Others' gossip is unworthy to be concerned of, so long as one lives with a clear conscience. She is 45 while he is 50 so both should have at least 20 years or more together.
Time and tide waits for no man.

I am so relieved that Beomsoo was not fired due to Tak's letter of complaint to the university.

I applaud Seri for standing firm against her dictator parents especially Tak dad. More importantly, she was sensible and brave to explain to the dean to clear her dad's accusations of Beomsoo. She is adamant and courageous and I am sure she'll return to Beomsoo as an independent and strong woman who can take care of herself... and a toddler too. 😊✊️

Agree!  Agree with the hierarchical system in SKorea regarding marriage or even divorce of adult children. 

Eagles Brothers is set in the year 2025 not 1925 not 1960s.  But parents are still holding an iron fist on the adult children's dating and married lives or even if they could divorce. 😂

mj, the very first time that I watched Korean dramas, I was confused about the parents pressuring adult children to marry a specific wealthy  individual. 

I have better not tire you as I can get long-winded. 🤭

Sorry, I am so mad with Tak and Miae.

😁 Seri is innocent in all the evil doings of her parents.  She was not even born yet. 
That's why I think the only way to resolve Beomsoo and Seri love story is for Seri to cut ties with her parents. 

Imagine Seri did not cut ties with her parents - and then she marries Beomsoo and move out. Her parents will want to visit her and her children from time to time.  If I were Beomsoo, I will be unhappy to see Miae especially Tak.

I am looking at this issue as if it were real life but granted, this is kdramaland.  The Writer wants everyone to sit on the floor and feast and drink makeojelli in the end. 🤣🤣🤣

mj, I am not sure that the Oh brothers will forgive Miae. 
But then, Writers, nowadays, love giving redemption arcs to one and all.  So you might be right....

But I really don't believe Miae deserves forgiveness because:
》Oh father died soon after Miae's embezzlement of Eagles Brewery.  
》Oh father was very gracious not to report them to the police.  
》They opened Silla Brewery to compete with Eagles.
》 Because Tak cut corners, his business flourished while Eagles went into debt.
》They never made any monetary restitution to Eagles after all these decades.

That is correct according to Miae herself.
