I can only give you a hypothetical answer.
A. She was afraid her family would know as Taewoong was just living at the rooftop and working at the laundromat. He was just too near.
B. Taewoong was like family so he was likely to turn down her request.
C. Asking Gangju meant that her family would never know.

Yup! I am beginning to lose my patience with Darim. She behaved like a petulant toddler.
And Gangju was too soft with her.

Episode 19 was such a bore until the last few seconds when Gangju found out that grandparents and Bonghee are the ones who stole the money buried in the mountain.
Now I'm dying to watch episode 20!

I wanted to slap Darim for wailing like a siren in Gangju's car. It was NOT as if Taewoong lied to her that he liked her. He told her time and again that she was just a little sister to him. At episode 19, Gangju & Darim are still not a couple but Darim was wailing to Gangju that her love for Taewoong was unrequited and she also raised her fist at Gangju.

Just watched the subbed 18th episode.

I feel so sorry for Gangju.
I feel so disgusted and mad with Ji Seungon.
How could a father be so unforgiving to his stepson who has been diligent, obedient & respectful to him.

Making Gangju compensate the company is fine but forcing him to resign is not right even if Seungdon only treats Gangju as his stepson but not son. Why?

Because Gangju is his only heir as he does not acknowledge Taewoong as his biological son. Does Seungdon never consider who would inherit the company....after sending Gangju to US for studies and training him in the business all these years?

Seungdon MUST ACKNOWLEDGE that his father-in-law, Gangju's maternal grandfather, provided funds for him to grow his business.
So he MUST ALSO ACKNOWLEDGE the blood relationship between his father-in-law....and Gangju.
Such ingratitude will backfire on him one day but it will be too late for regrets. 😠

As in my earlier reply, by the time Darim realised she loved Gangju, he might no longer have any feelings for her.
But as we all know just frim the drama promotional poster, Gangju & Darim will become a couple eventually.
