You meant YJ Yoon Ja. YJ should rightfully be divorced by JS in the end. YJ should leave the family together with NY. I can't understand the Writer's reason for keeping her in the family. She probably felt that a third broken family after JT & MR and HS & NY was over the top?? 🤷🏻♀️
SU JI & U RI is indeed a heartwarming family drama. Although it has its fair share of flaws, I have enjoyed watching it very much. From Day One of my watching Korean drama, I have always loved the family genre dramas. The last episode of family Korean dramas has always touched me warmly, made me smile but also sad that it has come to an end.
More importantly, I have made a few friends in the Comments Page and I will cherish these couple of months that we spent ranting, sighing and sharing our thoughts about this drama in MDL.
The Writer seemed to be promoting the adoption of orphans. WR & SJ adoption of a young orphan girl in the last episode strongly suggested it. I googled to find out more about this topic.
The punishment of JT & NY is loneliness and it can be painful and exhausting. They did not commit crimes which warrant a jail sentence. I thought MR would forgive JT at the last minute but it is not to be. As expected, NY made a 180° transformation and she seemed to be doing volunteer work at a child care centre of some sort.
YJ got away completely scot-free. 😤 Every character has a proper ending except YJ. JS should have divorced her long ago and both YJ & NY move to a village.
The drama ended well with a very heartwarming feeling.
That scene where JT was looking at his grandson's photos and he suddenly remembered NY telling him angrily that after she has delivered, he could do a test if the baby is HS's and then he needed to apologise to her.
This is the Writer telling us that the baby NY delivered was indeed HS's.
NY wished that SJ would have a safe delivery. This is a strong signal that NY would leave the family and work far away.
That WC, pulling a disappearing stunt, deserved to be kimchi-slapped until he looked like kimchi.
I am starting to feel sad that the last episode of this drama will be the next day.

It just crossed my mind that my two predictions did come true. Firstly, NY's suicide attempt, but she would be saved and forgiven largely by SJ. Secondly, JT would leave the family and become a village doctor. His new lifestyle would be spartan and uncomfortable.
Well, well, about 95% came true as JT did not become a village doctor. If NY's biological dad didn't turn up, NY would stiil leave her family and work far away. She will be shown to be at peace wirh herself.
I have yet to watch the subbed episode 127 and there are certain scenes with presumably important dialogue.

I am glad there is no misunderstanding because I was really dying for NY to receive punishment of some sort. Divorce and loss of custody of her baby are light punishment for NY. She can easily marry again. Well, Isa, I think there is consensus amongst the drama writers to have the villains forgiven. But this is walking down a slippery dangerous path as youngsters will have the misconception that all wrongdoings and crime can be wiped clean with wailing and saying they are sorry.

Well-said! That is forgiveness - to forgive the person but discontinue interaction. But some people also said true forgiveness is to forgive and continue interaction. This case in real life will require the wife to have an incredibly big heart to forgive and have him live with family.
