He can be and should be suspicious of another woman's motives whether he will be getting married to SJ or not. Having marriage plans has no bearing on being suspicious of another woman. NY's doings are too obvious that she was trying so hard to get close to him that he did feel uncomfortable. He can hear the alarm bells ringing so I don't understand why he accepted NY's invitation to eat at her place.

Granted if he did not eat at her place, then NY would not have a chance to make a move on him...the story cannot move forward. ☺️

Preview of episode 43 shows HS having a meal in NY's House. How could HS be so stupid and careless and arrogant?

When his new female neighbour invited herself into his house for a drink and then kept leaving food and flowers outside his house, shouldn't he question himself why would she shower so much attention on him. Not to mention the number of times she ran into him outside his door. He should be suspicious of such a female neighbour.

I think NY would carry out her plan by adding something into his drink to make him drunk then claimed they slept together. Soon she will pull out an ultrasound scan and claimed she is PREGNANT.🥴🤢

I think that time is precious and life is fragile and unpredictable. Just as Yae had the unfortunate accident as a teenager, life is fragile and unpredictable. Namiki or Yae might not lived for that 3-4 years of separation and they might never meet again.

If I were Namiki, I would tell Yae the truth without reservations...after her confession. Then give Yae some time to digest the truth and decide if she wants to continue their lives together or not. If Yae's decision is NO, then I would accept her decision and then it would not be too late to leave her. I can tell myself that I have done my best for her and myself.

Yae's mother made a tragic decision for Yae after her accident to remove Namiki from her life as her doctor wanted to marry her. This decision was based only on monetary reasons. Yae lived a luxurious life but also an unhappy life. Even Yae's mum later commented that she might have made a wrong decision for Yae at that time.

That was one mistake which ruined Yae's life for more than a decade. So I feel that no more
time should be wasted but treasured. 😊

I'm glad that we're on the same page regarding SJ's bad response to SY's persistent concern. However, I have a hunch that other commenters felt that SY was the annoying one who provoked SJ to such a strong reaction.

Although SY was indeed persistently annoying with her food offers and over-the-top concern of her tenant, I still felt that SJ should be the one to give in to SY's annoying concern. Reason being SJ ought to have a heart of gratitude and contentment because she is in a sad and helpless situation right now. SY need not help her by renting her spare room to her but she graciously stepped in. But she shouted at SY and glared at her. SJ should simply told SY politely her wanting to be alone.

Seriously, when a tenant slept for more than 25 hours and didn't eat at all, the landlady would start to worry. Other landlady would have told her to leave when SJ shouted angrily.

Anyway, it is good that SY and WR are now aware of a little of her background story.

My earlier comments were sympathetic of SJ. I feel her stress and distress. Like you said, I was thinking if SJ's problems were real life, she might have killed herself as I have read how a young female well-known singer killed herself a few years ago due to a torrent of criticism from netizens etc.

Nevertheless, when a person shows compassion to her, even if she felt uncomfortable, she should reciprocate with just a "Thank you". Or make her stand very firmly but politely that she would like to be left alone.

As I have written earlier, depression must have clouded her judgement and her withdrawal from social interaction. Still, it did not go down well with me to watch her arguing with her benefactor.

My guess is that NY is just playing mind games with HS for now. The last preview was HS apologising to NY if he has done something wrong to her. Her reply was "You didn't do anything wrong...".

Ep 40 - Now I take issue with SJ arguing with SY, her landlady. SJ has crossed the line now because she was very rude, unappreciative and uncompromising. Just accept the food prepared with love from SY with a "Thank you". It doesn't cost her arm or a leg to say that. 😬😑

"Enemies to Lovers" is the tag in MDL. They are certainly not enemies in the true sense of the word. They are not pally and SJ has, at times, displayed impatience and annoyance with WR. I guess the Writer is showing us how their relationship will evolve from colleagues to friends to more than friends to a couple eventually.

WR will be the one to discover first that he has developed romantic feelings for SJ. SJ will gradually discover her feelings for him.

This is drama and oftentimes situations are exaggerated so much so that it becomes unrealistic.

There is a comment section. Someone scolded Seon Young for making excuses for not looking for SJ much earlier. That she should never have left SJ with the ungrateful friend who had an affair with SJ's dad.

Others argued it would be hard to look for a job and accommodation with a young child.

Actually it did also cross my mind that it might be hard but safer to have one's child with you rather than with the stepmother.

But then again, who would know SY would meet with an accident.
A burning question which I have is SJ was about 6 or 7 yo when SY did not return for her. How could SJ not be able to recognise her mother? What's your take on these 2 matters?

I tried putting myself in her shoes now because some commenters were critisizing SJ for being rude to SY and the family. I think SJ is on the verge of a mental breakdown and needs treatment asap. She is unable to think clearly now. Her 25-hour sleep is a bad sign. Living with strangers and her years of hard work has gone down the drain. The public is judging and badmouthing her that she had to use sunglasses when she steps out of the house. Oh...I do pity and feel for her.

I do enjoy this drama because Ham Eun Jung and Baek Sung Hyun have good chemistry. 💘

Given that Ma Ri (HS's mum) harbours so much hatred for her husband, Jin Tae, he must have used underhanded methods to get her late father, who was the founder of Haedeul hospital, to allow him to marry her and thereby securing his position as the Director or was it CEO. Maybe he got Ma Ri drunk and pregnant?
This family has a couple of skeletons in the cupboard. 🙄

The tag for this drama is "Enemies to Lovers" so it is the usual trope which writers like to to use for the lead couple.
Could be embarrassment too that she was WR's senior at the hospital and was such a popular psychiatrist with her own show too. But she has now fallen flat and even renting a room at WR's house. Actually I do feel for her.

SJ is right now not in touch with her family and I think...that by the time she is feeling better mentally, NY might have already wormed her way into the Han's family with a pregnancy lie.

Oh the extreme stress which I was referring to was the time when videos of her scolding and hitting NY was out for all to see. The netizens were cursing and scolding her and her years of hard work went down the drain. She then lost her job and might never be able to find a psychiatrist job again. The stress was so severe that she passed out at the CourtYard Restaurant.

Yes, SJ needs to learn the truth that her mother did not abandon her. Make peace with her mother and unload her pain of abandonment. Then learn to trust and believe that there are genuinely kind people in this world.

Unfortunately, I don't think it will happen anytime soon. We will see how it pans out.

It is indeed hard to watch SJ's ungracious interaction with WR's family.

Despite being a well-known and well-loved psychiatrist, it seems that she is totally oblivious that her own mental health is very weak atp and she needs treatment asap. I think extreme stress has clouded her judgement coupled with decades of verbal abuse and even physical abuse from that stepmother. Hence, now she is uncomfortable when strangers show genuine concern for her.

WR will be the one to slowly help SJ onto the road to recovery. 🥰

Whoa! NY is very swift in her entrapment of HS. Just as @HJHofT17 has mentioned about a fake pregnancy, HS is a Goner now that NY will soon claim that she is pregnant and coerce HS and his parents that she must join the Han family. His dream of SJ returning to him has burst into smithereens!
I reeeally feel sorry for HS now. 🤭😆🤣
