"To say you love a boy, but I don't think there are really words to describe this, but there is nothing odd about loving another boy. I think it would be good if this was viewed as a natural thing."
One of the best Queer Coming of Age films I have seen. I related to Minato so much. Growing up I felt so much self shame of who I was, I wanted to find solace and freedom. This film was just beautiful.
OK so there is fantastic news, saw on twitter that the actor Ahn Ji Ho, the main actor of Heesu confirmed it's a BL on a recent interview. So it's basically not cancelled, let's just hope they release some news this 2024.
The movie (Kim Go Eun and Steve Noh) is more of a exploration of their friendship whilst the show (Nam Yoon Su) focuses on the MLM romance from the novel.
I really like this drama but yet again, the writers can't write an interesting second female lead character. Jin Ga Young could've been a stellar character but her only role in this drama is to be that annoying, easily to hate, second female lead that has a one sided love for the ML. It's been 10 episodes, and we didn't see any other sides to her character except the small scene of her past. It's sad, that female characters are still being portrayed/written this way in the year 2023.

Also the SML is also uninteresting but atleast we knew more about his character, his past, and etc. in the 10 episodes. The writers didn't bother with these two characters, their just there for plot conflict. No hate to the actress and actor, they are great. It's just the writing.
Although I do agree with some that this drama has some similar vibes with other Korean Dramas, but just like the legendary Drag Queen RuPaul said, "You don't have to reinvent the wheel". Just make it entertaining and interesting, and so far this drama is doing a good job mainly because of the chemistry between the two leads.
I like this show so far. The main couples chemistry is really good, they are cute together. I also really like Geum Joo, her fashion is top tier. Byeon Woo Seok is doing good as the villain, he's mysterious and intimidating but I don't particularly find his character interesting as of the moment. Overall, this show so far is a goofy and fun mess. I hope this won't falter in the upcoming second half.

It deservingly won the Queer Palm award in the Cannes Film Festival
