On Woori the Virgin May 26, 2022
Title Woori the Virgin Spoiler
I'm really liking this show so far. I can't remember much of the original because i wasn't very invested.
I don't have a problem with Woori, i think she is a very emotionally challenged woman. She has been emotionally abused albeit unintentionally by her family. She is sexually repressed and expresses this through her writing. I Understood her decision to keep the child, i understood her decision to break up with kang jae for his own good but not when she said she couldn't trust him again and seeing his face makes her think of the lie when she also lied to him about her whereabouts that same day. It just felt a tad hypocritical.
I like kang jae but i don't agree that he's the perfect boyfriend at least not for Woori. He's certainly sweet and does not deserve to have his girlfriend get pregnant for another man. He's a little too good to be true, even the priest had to tell him, it was natural to have improper thoughts about your girlfriend. It was especially unbelievable when he supported her decision to keep the pregnancy. I was so relieved when he started to crack because that was more humane and perfectly normal. I feel bad for him certainly, it's like he's been set up from the beginning to lose out. I hope he turns to his junior at work for solace and love.
I don't have a problem with Raphael's character, the writers derailed a little by making him seem the typical spoilt rich kid who has no morals, only to try in the next scene to make him look pitiful so that you can empathize with him and thus make him more likable, so that we can buy into him being with Woori. They used the tropes of first love and destiny with them. By showing that they had history however fleeting helps to justify their relationship in the viewers' eyes because you can rationalize that she wouldn't have ended up with kang jae if Raphael hadn't pulled the stunt he did at the east sea and it's obvious he did that to intentionally push her away because he thought he was going to die.
The father is obviously the comic relief of the show. My guess is he's a comedian in real life. The mum, was annoying at first but she's started seeing the damage she caused to her daughter and is now trying to make amends. I have no words for Mari, i'll just watch and see what happens to her. I'm curious about the investigation and the chairman kim mentioned all the time. I hope it's not Raphael's dad.

Title About Is Love Season 2 Spoiler
Lol, it's so cheesy but i love it. I love the different direction all their stories have taken. I empathize so much with Fei Fei she waited for so long, poor girl, i can't wait for him to remember her and to see how their relationship will develop with this new mischievous Ning Fei.
I am living for Li Mingchen and Bi Qiujing's story right now. The jealous genius is pure comedy. I just hope she won't misunderstand and think Mingchen actually fell in love with her because he thought she was the student who came to listen to him play 7 yrs ago.
As for the main couple, their breakup was all things annoying but necessary to move the story along i guess. The assualt scene broke my heart and when he lost his sight after sighting her portrait and she took care of him without him knowing it was her, that was so sad and so sweet.

The remake already exists, Kdrama “Mask”. Not credited, but anyone who watches it will see its the same thing.
Wow, this is so true. I never noticed the similarities before but now that you mention it...

Lmao, i love, love, loove this! It's exactly what i never knew i needed. I love La usurpadora, it's still one of my favorite telenovelas and it would be so cool if it was remade into a kdrama. I'd love to see how they adapt the original plot with kdrama tropes. I gotta give you major props for the detailing of your fanmade plot and the casting. Kudos. This is a fun read and i truly enjoyed it.

Title Young and Beautiful Spoiler
Ok so i'm in ep 32 so far and i really love the drama. The romance aspect isnt great unless you look at it from the perspective of the FL falling in love.
The ML is relegated to the sidelines because of so many misunderstandings which annoyed me to no end. He was too passive at points when he needed to be proactive. He allowed everyone to manipulate his romantic relationship on the basis of friendship. He was clearly in love with the FL from the beginning but then she was with his friend so he couldn't do anything for the sake of their friendship. Afterwards when the coast was clear, he stayed in the background as a good friend. Finally when he saw the very real threat of the FL ending up with Ye Hui he should've made his feelings clear but he didn't. He still allowed her to think he was with Hua Hua especially the earring incident. I didn't get that. It was a stellar opportunity for him to make things clear but instead he fed the illusion that he was with Hua Hua and from there he just kept indulging Hua knowing how she felt about him instead of nipping things in the bud which seemed almost contradictory to the character he initially portrayed except the loyalty. That has been consistent. I've read spoilers so i know the FL ends up with the ML which i've wanted from the beginning despite how wonderful Ye Hui has been to her and currently is till ep 32 that i'm in. But i generally don't like series where the FL or ML swap multiple partners even in western series unless the series spans years and several seasons but even then i get attached to a pairing and it's hard to get into the new pairing. That was one of my biggest problems with the Kdrama Marriage not dating which i absolutely enjoyed.

I was quite put off by several things so far in the story. Hua hua and Wei have a hypocritical attitude towards Weijing. They act like her friends to her face but when it's just two of them they are actually envious and always bring up her humble beginnings which Hua Hua isnt much better off.

Hua hua is a real trial for me. She is selfish and annoying and if the spoilers i've read are true then i'm glad she ends up alone. She had a good man in love with her for so long and she acted oblivious and constantly took advantage of the fact, then she lied and tried to manipulate her way into a new relationship.

Wei was an intriguing character which i liked except when she was talking bad about Wenjing. She's smart and hardworking and knows what she wants and goes after it. She was so desperate to prove that her success was not because of her family wealth which was amusing to me because it was obviously a large contributing factor of her success.

Plug was annoying in his obsession with Hua Hua but i guess we cant control the desires of the heart. It was sad because his junior at work was so obviously in love with him hut he can't see it for his love of Hua. I read he ends up with Wei, i cant imagine it so it should be interesting to see how it plays out.

All in all the drama is really good for its quite realistic view of life and love which is rarely portrayed in Cdramas. All the actors did exceptionally well in their portrayal of their respective roles and should be commended for that.
