But before this whole loop started, they were not together instead we see sing finding fault or scolding him. The only time we got to see some connections or big interaction was when Tin went back to July 11 and b4 the ship could sail, Tin died. That means they (gapsing) has to start all-over again.
I just wish the writer made it that they got together b4 the loop where Tol die. I think that's the only way we would have seen them progressing (I think am talking rubbish now🤣)
I do love how young Tol is and how differently he thinks from Tin because of that. Tol is a young man without the experience that Tin has... but a very different kind of experience as well.
He's such a sweetheart and so desperate and he just wants back the man he loves, the love he had... and he approaches it the way a young man would, with both feet in the fire and a load of enthusiasm and a fearless nature and a belief in the love he shared.
The way Tol loves Tin is open and honest and full of exactly who Tin taught him to be, this trusting and loving and open man who just wants to find the man he lost and hasn't figured out how.
Tol is in much deeper than Tin because he gets one chance. One chance and one chance alone and so he's got a different kind of desperation than Tin did in his endless loops, a more desperate and more clinging desperation that he cannot afford to lose.

This is a Tin who was never given a chance to save someone, who stayed the bitter man we first met who didn't want to save Tol because he smelled like a drunk driver. And this Tin has never lived the same day, the same week, learned that people are not as they seem or that love can save a life.
Tol has to try to teach him that in less than three days. And he has one chance.
