Hmm..it all just happened that way, i suppose. I just completed.. and the story flowed very naturally. The end seemed justified and fair. I never once had a different opinion about who should get the girl (might be because i knew the ending, anyways..). Their love for each other was so understandable. Just felt bad very bad for Jipyeong. I usually don't cry watching dramas, but I cried full tears for him, every time he cried in front of halmeoni😭😭
I am on episode 3 but I have already read here who Dal mi ends up with. It makes me really sad because...all her feelings for all those years were for the one who wrote the letters and NOT for the 'name'. So, why does it have to end that way!!! Still, I will watch till the end to see if my opinion changes, with the advent of events. This makes me remember a bollywood movie where Hrithik's character have similar exchange of emails with Kareena, but in reality Rani was writting those mails in Kareena's name. When he came back to India, Kareena did become his girlfriend, but with time he realised that the person with whom he had been in love with for so many years was different from Kareena and similar in ways to Rani (before the confrontation of truth). Anyways, they get together at the end. This is and should be the most reasonable ending to a story like this. Because if those letters comforted you on all your lows, then the person who you are in love with should be the one writing those and it should not matter how that person looks or what his/her name is. (P.S. Upto the episode that I have watched, the first reply in the msgs was also given by Ji peong and not Do san, with him telling to consult before replying in the future as well) ~ Waiting to see how the story progresses and change my opinion for the 'said' ending

I did not understand what you misunderstood about my comment. Unlike you earlier mentioned, I wasn't talking about the 'complex words' used by the author but about their 'sentence framing'. I would have expressed the same thing in 3-4 sentences which the person did in one sentence. That's what I meant and that's what I appreciated.

Woww, their were such intense emotions of Seonho ( they deserved a better ending, after suffering soo much🥺🥺), which DoHwan even portrayed so well. But, it was me who was unable to understand such complexity, maybe because it's my first historical kdrama. Thankyou for explaining so beautifully. This made me want to rewatch keeping in my mind all these points and I would be more sad this time, that I know. First time watching was also painful.
This was my first ever kdrama and I loved it. Watched it last year, since then I have watched so many kdramas, still can rewatch this one. The story, acting and theme, everything was soo spot on.
One of those dramas where you know that the hero will always win. Still, enjoyed watching every part of it. Liked the acting of the male lead and looking forward to explore some of his other works.
I have a thing or two against impervious plot armors that goes to the extremes and this drama was structured around…

I started watching this for Woo Do Hwan and have watched 13 episodes till now. But, I do not understand what actually Seon Ho wants. At first, I thought that he is just helpless in front of his father but also wanted to save his friend, so he is acting like this. But, in the episodes after the leap of six years, all his planning and plotting with the king as well as his father, was just so unclear. moreover, all the time he kept saying that he wanted to get a revenge on his father for what happened to his mother, but in the end when his father lost at the hands of Hwi, why did he get angry? I want to understand his actions. Can someone please explain his whole POV and the purpose behind his actions? And, one more thing I couldn't understand: Did he like Yeon as a lover or did he see her as a sister figure?
