tbh, the more I learn about their history as a couple, given they almost became parents together, it makes me more sad, the fact that he still hasn't got a pure intention towards queen,
i.e. scheming for the money, proactive only because he is jealous

ik its early stages of the drama (just finished ep 4), more will unfold but if you were so badly in love at one point, when that person hasn't done you harm (directly, directly at least), how could your first thought not be grief, sadness etc.

Alright, on episode 2, 12 minutes in, the scene where he wakes up from his best sleep ever.

And I feel disheartened, that that was his reaction to his 'once' love only having 3 months left to live.

Yes he was on the verge of divorce, his in laws were bossing him around, but he is not communicating to her at all ( we may see attempts at this later, and probably how he got cut off before he finished etc), not the romance I came to see.
